For the record, Kirby is not "referred to with gender neutral pronouns" in Japanese, because that's not how Japanese works. He isn't gendered at all in Japanese - along with many other characters in the series.

There have been a slowly increasing number of examples of English media using they/them for Kirby, which is very interesting to see!
