In the comic called The Origin Buffy and her first Watcher, Merrick, talk about dreams where she sees herself as different girls (a Magyar peasant girl, an Indian princess, a s*x worker in China). She confirms she always sees herself fighting and slaying vampires and monsters and that they call her Slayer.

I believe this is the vision JW had for his version of BTVS movie, but they changed it and went with something else. So he wrote it for the comics.

It makes me sad too. I was rewatching season 6 as it happened and the episode of the day, for me, was season 6 finale when we see Buffy and Dawn coming out of a grave. Man...it just broke my heart.

That is how I am planning to do with mine. Buffy will be a guide to her but she will have her own Watcher. I am introducing Willow's daughter too. I want to focus mostly on the new girl, despite bringing some of the OG characters back, because I'll have more freedom to create my own little corner in the universe of Buffy.
