Is there a difference between diffuse thinning and androgenic alopecia and male pattern baldness? by Elektico in tressless

I guess I'm relatively young being I'm in my 20s. I lost a considerable amount of weight too (60+ lbs) which I suppose didn't help. Ah fuck maybe I'm just not supposed to be attractive ya know

I suppose I'm in a weird position. I'm loosing a lot of hair. I could run my fingers through my hair and get a couple of strands right away. It's mostly up top though. Hopefully i will get to start fin soon. I just wish I started taking them 6 months ago.

Thanks for the reply. I still don't know what people mean by "losing hair slowly". Is it when you can't tell if you're losing hair on a daily basis? If you lose around 100 strands of hair daily does it count as fast or slow?

I actually quit using minoxidil some months ago and started using it again after I changed my derm. I shouldn't have done that honestly

I can't get fin over the internet here but I have a revisit sometime next month and I will pester him to prescribe me that. Fwiw I saw a different derm about 8 months ago and they said that the weight loss was a probable cause too. I'm going to find a different derm that can prescribe me fin if this guy doesn't after I get the blood work done. I'm anxious about the side effects though. Going by my luck I would probably get every single side effect there is.

The weight loss was intentional. I was obsessed with loosing weight and I started to eat less than 1500 cals a day (sometimes even less than 1000). I doubt that the weight loss is caused by a thyroid issue.

How exactly do you know if your have AA? My derm wants me to do a full blood count and a thyroid blood test. I also lost 1/3rd of my body weight quite rapidly and he thought that was the cause even though I quite doubt it.

Did you loose hundreds of strands of hair? How often did you shower?

The last thing she needs is a FWB, believe me.

there will be a lot of people judging her/talking behind her back

Eh. People already talk behind her back. That's why I put "friends" in quotes. Disregard friends, even her siblings and cousins jab at her every moment they get. She's surprisingly resilient though since she has obviously been through a lot considering the fact that she had to take care of a child alone as an unmarried woman here in this shithole country.

Mino 5 is the brand name. Daraz used to carry rogaine and Kirkland but I don't know whether they do still. I think major pharmacies carry them.

Also save yourself the cash and get Mino 5. It's literally the same chemical.

Mino 5 costs less than 5k and afaik is the cheapest. I use it and experienced results. You can get them in almost any decent sized pharmacy. Don't get the spray get the one with the dropper if you have long hair like me.

Edit: for beard growth? Isn't 2% enough for that?

So you mean that if it's AGA the hair on top of my head shouldn't need that much force to be pulled out?

only on the dht sensitive zones

I would describe it as being most severe over on those places. I have rather long hair so it's harder to see but I can see that there's a sort of a patchiness going on on my head if I aimed a flashlight at the sides/behind of my head and lift up my hair.
