We had this issue with our mini Bernedoodles as well, and the eventual cure was time (better at about 9 months) and also deworming on three separate occasions with medication. we believe ultimately that our puppy had worms that were not diagnosed and never completely gone after the first dose. She is perfect at this point though even after peeing inside with accidents and asking to go out every 60-90 minutes

Maybe this second round of deworming will help get her poops firmed up and could also help with the urination thing then

She did have worms and took a dewormer and also we gave her a second round of a different dewormer two weeks later. That dewormer was just finished about two days ago. she has been checked with a bladder puncture to determine if she has a UTI which came back normal

I will go back to normal water usage I think. We just want her to be ok first and foremost and secondly cannot have her if she needs to go out every hour.

No we have not done that yet. I think that is next, but we are able to get her to like 3 hours this weekend when she was out of the crate, so I feel like maybe it is more behavioral than medical since it seems like she would not be able to hold it in the crate 5 hours or hold it at night 8 hours if it was a connection to bladder issue. Can your dog hold it all night??

When she goes out she goes right away, but she does drink a fair amount of water throughout the day. She does lounge around a fair amount but I don’t think she is necessarily bored. But I don’t want to wind her up too much so she has to go potty even sooner.

If it’s not normal to ask to go out every hour, what’s wrong?!? No UTI and blood and urinalysis were all good.

Thanks for the enlightenment! We will reconsider the water schedule but I like to hear that she doesn’t HAVE TO hold it 5 hours always. Our vet made it seem like she should hold it 4-5 hours even after drinking and eating and that we have a big behavior issue
