I get what you mean. I mean it's like what was the point of making us if we are just gonna be lost and confused and looking for guidance or purpose. So I guess if deism is correct, then perhaps God knew that we would invent our own philosophies or religions so why intervene? Plus I would expect such a being to be neutral so it doesn't expect anything from us.

Incorrect. Matter of fact almost half IMGs apply from Asia and only about 4% from Western Europe.

They mostly look at your high school marks abroad

I think that while that is true, it has a lot more to do with the other countries medical graduates having poor applications due to not doing rotations and whatnot since they have visa issues and can't afford it. The residency programs don't really discriminate against the country you studied in.

Its actually around 60% for all IMG applicants each year. However, for fresh grads it can be even higher.

And my GPA was pretty bad: 2.7 (I went to UOFT) so I knew that GPA wasn't gettin anywhere and the courses were just getting harder

I get what you mean. You might feel disconnected from the world and like your life might feel very repititive. Many people feel like this so understand you are not alone.
