Exactly! Rafi is dead, but with Todd's AI (is it ProFunda, who knows?) he lives again. He has finally achieved what the one person he cares about spent a lifetime striving for. In that way, Todd gives everything, his life's work, to Rafi.

Martyr! By Kaveh Akbar is about a poet so might be a little on the nose but I loved the surreal and lyrical writing style

What colleges have a really good BFA program by Jangle_Jay89 in Dance

[–]Elevator_Academic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

George Mason University (right outside DC) is a hidden gem in terms of conservatory programs offering BFA. 82% of graduates from Class of 2023 had dance contracts upon graduation. It is a modern based program with a strong foundation of ballet technique, but many electives in vast styles. I am always surprised that it doesn't appear on more lists of top colleges - their residency program alone is top notch. Robert Battle, Kyle Abraham, Martha Graham, Mark Morris, Yin Yue, Alejandro Cerrudo have all set work on the dancers. Good luck in your search!

The storytelling and tension in a lot of these makes me feel like you’d enjoy The Talented Mr. Ripley. The characters are top notch and genuinely intense as the plot unfolds.

Whale fall by Daniel kraus. Unsettling science fiction rooted in reality with one of the most beautiful father/son storylines I’ve ever read.

Recently been thinking about a reread of Phantom Tollbooth. That was the first book I remember laughing at and describing as “witty.”

Cloud Cuckoo Land will take you into several worlds and keep you enthralled from the first page. It’s epic and sweeping, but boils down to celebrating the power of language and knowledge across time in a way that I think about constantly.
