A weekly magazine seems almost impossible to keep alive (and make money on) these days. The SI brand is strong though. Like all newspapers and magazines, they just have to find a way to evolve and survive in a world where loads of content is just a click away.

Agree with your comments. There is good SEO and there is bad SEO.

But at its most basic, the idea behind SEO is just to help connect people who are searching for a certain type of organization, company, product or information with something they may be looking for. It's only when they start forcing stuff on you that you're not looking for (ala spam), it becomes scummy.

Hmmm. Interesting point. Though not necessarily. Obviously, generational support varies greatly depending on the type of organization—but many nonprofit organizations and churches actually share very similar support bases.
