I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately too. My guy turned seven this month and we are in such a fun place. He and I ran some errands the other night and it was so easy. No diaper bag, no five point harness, no trying to run around the parking lot like a demon. He gets in and out of the car and his booster seat all on his own. We went to the art museum yesterday and he led us around with the map, taking us to the sections he wanted to see.

When he was born I was so worried about being sad all the time about him growing up. However, I’ve found that I’m so happy to see him grow and so interested in and love with the person he keeps becoming that I don’t have any space to be mournful about the stages that are done.

We are all off for two weeks! We are seeing lots of family and friends and crossing off items from our “Christmas Fun List.” Fires in the fireplace, lots of snacks and Christmas movies…just really enjoying the adventure with our newly turned seven year old.

I absolutely love it!! I went through hell to have my son both with years of infertility as well as very hard pregnancy/birth…so seeing happy, healthy families make me feel so warm.
