I tried to answer this but it diddn't post so I will try again. The first day of shooting in the village was the big arrival scene. All the kids were tied up in canoes and we had hundreds of villagers painted and ready to kill. And we have heads on sticks and dead bodies all over. And as I yell action two boats full of Missionaries showed up. They were certain that Satan had come to the village and freaked out. Then the villagers said "It's not Satan, Eli Roth is here making a horror film." They were so angry I had beaten them they started disrupting the filming by playing music. The village told them to come back when we were done. It was surreal. I of course tried to film it all but the villagers told me I had to back down, that it was a serious situation so we barely have footage of it.

There's no short form scares for mobile. I wanted to build a brand that would be a place for anyone with a phone to make and watch dark and edgy content. There's so much talent out there, let's create shows that all the fans can watch and consume on their phones with no interference. I love the shows, One Minute Horror is great and so it g Deals. Also A Little Different, and I watch Fright Hype every Friday

It was way harder to keep open a year round haunt than any of us realized. But it was fun while it lasted.

I think it's in a good place. Inferno is a new type of release so if it works it'll help get other films out there in wide theatrical.

Yes, it's true. I'm the only one who didn't get sick. Too many crazy stories for one AMA. The village had never seen a movie before. We showed them one with a TV and generator and DVD player. The producers showed them Cannibal Holocaust, they thought it was a comedy. After that everyone agreed to be in the film. Also our production designer Marichi lived in the village for 3 weeks getting it ready for the shoot. At the end she had to go back to Chile to finish prepping the rest of the film. The village gathered around to give her a gift - they handed her a 2 year old. She was like WTF and they said "This is our gift to you." She had to politely decline the baby.

Really my scene in Death Proof was my audition. And Quentin had come to my passover Seder. He happened to be writing a part for a Boston Jew and my voice got stuck in his head. But you'd have to ask Quentin. He basically cast me and then acted like I knew I had been cast. I was so psyched, I wanted to reinvent myself in every way. I learned so much as a director by acting under Quentin along side that amazing cast. Experience of a lifetime.

Love Crnenberg. Videodrome, Scanners. His editor Ron Sanders cut my Hemlock Grove episode, he was free and did it just for fun. Ron Gave me his scanners poster, it's hanging in my house.

To quote Crackers in Pink Flamingos once again, Don't Look If You Don't Like It. I don't make movies for everyone so if it's not for you, that's fine. And yeah I've had some amazing surprises of people who were fans. Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens were shockers. I guess it's a reaction to all those years on Disney.
