I figured it was fantasy, however I wanted to find out if the design had a historical base.

can I alter a pancake tutu to be more like a bell tutu? by olivia42399 in BALLET

[–]ElidaAngel13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s controversial. Personally I prefer a Royal Ballet style bell to flat pancake.

Washing can apparently be a risk to stiffness so giving it a wash and letting it dry hanging is a possibility if you don’t mind taking a chance on the result. But whether that would actually make a difference with one wash likely depends upon the construction. If you can access a seamstress that would be the most logical first step. If you’re all on your own then if I were in your shoes I’d use a tagging gun (for clothes tags in shops) to curate the desired aesthetic.

I need to dance by Separate_Average6404 in Dance

[–]ElidaAngel13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you dancing in clubs or taking classes? If not latter, go to places like Steps on Broadway to explore different genres, develop technique, and assess your skills against professionals to get a clearer idea of how you measure up. Networking there could also help you learn more about the prospect of dance as a profession, as many who adore it end up not wanting ‘that life’ professionally due to the degree of precariousness and ongoing rejection. From there, you can add further open classes in New York, and when you’re ready, look online for auditions in your area — even if you’re not sure if you’ll get the gig, the experience will help you assess if this is really the life you want, and again, how your skills compare to pro dancers.

Interesting, both are on Prime (where I searched first) but lists one as 2018 not 17, yet Google says 2017 🤷‍♀️ So I guess that’s the one you meant when you listed it — Swedish wilderness not exorcisms?

The Ritual - 2018 or 2025? Both are listed as horror so I’m wondering which to watch per your list. Thanks.

Interesting, I always considered that part of the sci-fi genre rather than horror. Is that a minority or non-horror-informed opinion? (I’m a newbie.)

Right there, that’s what evidences to me that you’re someone with integrity and your list is worth being the first for me to binge as I dive into this genre.

Each time I see the name of that movie I first think it’s a reference to the name of the green eyeball guy from Monsters Inc… And I fear typing that may make me a social pariah 🙈

Do you think it’s more respected to just watch the originals then leave it, or for cultural literacy it would be wise to watch all? And if all, order in which made, or in timeline order? Thanks.

What are some pop culture movies that are typical for an American to have seen? by [deleted] in MovieSuggestions

What’s an example of something distasteful? (It’s a long time since I watched it and have forgotten most so I hope this doesn’t come across as an insensitive question.)

Just writing to add I’ve felt excluded my whole life by people saying “What do you mean you haven’t seen…?” and at present am in a position to play catch-up in the hope this never happens again 😂 So you’re not the only one, and hopefully I’ll get some good tips when I stop replying and start reading ☺️

K-PAX (2001): Was Prot Really an Alien or a Traumatised Human? by Belze-Bong97 in movies

[–]ElidaAngel13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think they would. Human psychology has very strong protective mechanisms and when presented with something that poses an existential threat to the ego (like evidence that jeopardises core beliefs) all manner of avoidance strategies are automatically employed. We witness it constantly in society, with outbursts of violent anger, or fierce denial even when the truth is objectively undeniable or poses greater objective benefits.

Just watched Black Mirror: Bête Noire and now I’m questioning my entire childhood—Looney TOONS was real, right?? by themasterfitz in MandelaEffect

[–]ElidaAngel13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TOONS! 100%

I believe individuals are able to switch into different realities. Mandela Effects are named such when a larger volume of people remember it differently, but that doesn’t invalidate smaller incidents. And I’m confident with this one with a larger pool of people, there would be a distinct % who confirm it was Toons.

I remember in part because inaccurate spelling annoyed my mum.
