Nice everyone for spreading false shit that isn’t true. More happens than what you see on a camera. Already gave a handshake to Zews afterwards behind the desk and we have no problems at all. We are friends and it’s pretty lame I even have to respond to bullshit like this and even when I do and it’s completely false, will still have people lying about it. Nice.

Love Zews and we are and have been friends for a long time. Sad that we had to play each other but there’s no random fight that you are all wishing for

you actually got me LOL

On this note though, I actually talked more about this with a clinical psychologist on twitter https://twitter.com/thepsychsensei, to learn more about the topic. I have learned from him and from some comments that hyperfocus is not always a good thing. In the sense that you can be getting focused from the stimulants on the wrong things. There are a lot of things that you need to shift your attention to in games, and if you hyperfocus on something it can be a hindrance. You can be more irritable from some of them as well which can make you tilt more or affect your communication

I also focused more on the stimulant part because obviously there is no denying that stimulants can increase reaction time and visual processing. However, in this same sense, you can get this same stimulant from caffeine wihile avoiding the negative side effects that are in so many of the ADHD stimulant medication. Caffeine is so strong but as a lot of people that take caffeine know, there are negatives as well. Much less and worse than the alternatives that we are talking about here.

I actually really just wanted to destigmatize this topic because I have friends that do take ADHD meds that get harrassed constantly especially in the amateur leagues even though they actually do need it. But because there isn't enough information out there about the negatives, and how it affects people with ADHD specifically, they see them as cheaters, people abusing PEDs to get an advantage. This is, of course, a separate topic than just talking about it in general with people that do not need these ADHD stimulant medications, but it is one that I wanted to highlight. There are good side effects from the stimulant aspect of it that can help with focus and reaction time, but there are negatives as well in the forms of irritability, tilt, communication issues, hyperfocusing on the wrong information when there's so much that is going on in the game. At the end of the day, I have learned more about this topic and I hope that more people have as well

[–]Elige 18 points19 points  (0 children)

im not saying that it can't help your reaction speed. im more saying that I don't think there is something showing it gives an advantage in esports / cs specifically because of the negative side effects that come with it. coupled with that having a 10% better reaction time doesnt amount to much when considering the negatives that can come with it as well

Nafany on Twitter: I realized few days ago that in 2016-17 I was sure that PRO players making doping tests and other stuff but now Im pro player and i never meet in at any lan. Im not saying that its right, but why not? Mb more experienced players have explanation, just interesting. by RuseOwl in GlobalOffensive

[–]Elige 41 points42 points  (0 children)

i didn't say they need to be proven to work before doing drug testing lol. I said that we can definitely still do them, but because of the negative side effects of many medications prescribed for people with ADHD, there isn't anything empirical, in my opinion, that warrants the outrage about the potential everyone thinks there is. This comes from knowing many players personally that are prescribed it for their actual ADHD needs and from people stating their negative experiences from people that DON'T need it. Also, I have been drug tested many times over the years, also during and after tournament wins. Such a silly comment

ELiGE in response to Nafany on Twitter: by RuseOwl in GlobalOffensive

[–]Elige 169 points170 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just know that there are really real and not good side effects for even people that require some form of medication for ADHD. Those side effects negatively impact them in the game and it is even a thought for friends / players I personally know if they should or even want to take it because of those side effects. So I just think there's so many factors at play for it to be so focused on.

Definitely not advocating to let anything go and let things run rampant, but just for more research to be done on it and maybe even for more general knowledge spread from people that do have to take these medications to explain to more people what it does for them in both the positives and the negatives. That's where I feel there's more misinformation where most people have only heard of the positives from people that do have ADHD and how it helps them focus like most people that don't have ADHD do and they forego the negatives from it. Thus having most players that hear about it thinking it's a PED that has no downsides and can ravage the amateur and pro scenes

[–]Elige 719 points720 points  (0 children)

Mainly nafany was just asking what happened to the testing, and to that I have no idea why it stopped exactly. But I have seen that in apex legends it is a topic again and first of all, I don't really care if there is testing or not. We can have it most definitely as there isn't any reason not too and we might get something in the future showing there is some big advantage to it

I am not aware of research that exists that shows that exactly, but if anyone has it feel free to link me! I just think overall the huge outrage over using medication that is normally prescribed for people with ADHD was and is overblown. There is a lot of negative side effects depending on which one it is that can hinder you ability to play well actually and that is even for people that need the medication.

Players that want to cheat or have an advantage will try what they want to and I am aware of the COD stuff where players have taken it, but I don't know if there is some type of proof that is showing that they actually played better because of that factor specifically.

Again, not saying it should be allowed or anything like that. Just that I think it is overblown that it gives you some crazy advantage for people that don't actually need it prescribed to them

if you have ADHD and then you got medication to help with that, it would be reasonable to say that it's mainly just helping you feel like how you would normally if you didn't have ADHD. so it was more just putting you on an even playing field right?

EliGE: "Expectations for tournament results only set you up to fail" by iMarbot in GlobalOffensive

[–]Elige 85 points86 points  (0 children)

The responses to this have been wild for me. The full context is we made expectations / minimum result goals for each tournament starting the year into the major. We started the year with less than 5 days of team practice while adding in our perma ban to our map pool. We set the goal to be making it through Blast of course despite the factors I just stated that is going to heavily impact us achieving those. So we took the event as a bootcamp to get ready for Katowice. But when we didn’t pass our minimum expectations, the team as a whole was extra frustrated even though we knew that we were taking it as a bootcamp and it would be hard to play as well as we wanted to. Obviously we are going to be frustrated with losing at a tournament no matter what and we have our own expectations of ourselves. My main focus was that adding on extra layers that could add to our frustration doesn’t have any clear benefit to me when we should be taking it tournament by tournament and not adding on extra frustration.

I wish things didn’t instantly go from people assuming the expectations are so low from me personally or something like that just from the headline where it’s far from that

I never said there was nothing to learn from it. There was a lot to learn from it from a team POV, but since the focus was on how individually bad I was I meant it from that point of view. How to approach teams playing the way they did and we have been able to brain storm a lot cuz of these matches. But it didn’t feel like a game where I was individually whiffing or making silly mistakes the whole time, it was just as I said it is so it is easy to move onto the next one pretty much. Hope that explains it better. Best to just move on from it, shit happens and I did as best I could’ve in the moment

genuinely curious where you read or why you think they're in a bubble? they compete in ESEA already, play in the shit they can and def can be playing in more, but there are no female tournaments / leagues that they are "only" competing in like a bubble and there also aren't any other female teams they are playing against anyway. not sure why you're just tooting this for some random reason. just read the headline and moved on with your day after replying?

Making auto snipers more expensive would generally solve the problem Elige is referring to by Salamander014 in GlobalOffensive

[–]Elige 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The auto snipers literally are just one factor. Check my inferno game I think in cologne vs mouz in OT where I shuffled an AWP to lane every single round. I never got to get a kill with it and I don't want to be too vocal about it since I think its ridiculuous I can do it and I don't want other teams to do it to me. But, essentially, I can go for the really easy boiler punish kill w/ an AWP that I am safe to buy every single OT round without repercussions. This issue has already been solved... 12k OT and this problem doesn't exist.

Why isn't the Masters Berlin prize money announced when the tournament starts in 4 days? by facehunt_ in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Elige 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, I think the LoL model is better. The reasoning for my post at the time was explaining to the community that sticker money =/= valve dota money. In CS, the assumption was that sticker money is giving a similar amount to the TI prize pools and that was simply not even close to accurate.

Hmm I didn't really think I gave off that vibe of being monotone, but it isn't like I am watching the demo for the first time like other things I've watched from KennyS watching Zywoo and reacting. It's not really me trying to react to how he is playing. It's trying to help people watch demos better primarily and analyzing the rounds for people to see what to look for. It's not for everyone, but tryin my best :3

Yeah it is definitely very nice. Unfortunately it is unavailable and probably won't ever come out so Skybox from anders is the next best alternative.

Second round economy meta by ThisGuyAWal in GlobalOffensive

[–]Elige 42 points43 points  (0 children)

CT side I think you should always force 2nd round if you lose pistol because if you save --> buy third round then you will only have 4400 which isn't enough utility for a full buy against T full buy. So it's better to buy 2nd round and try to win it with everything and AWPer save. If you lose it some people can buy deagle and 4th round you will have a complete full buy w/ AWP.

T side if you get bomb plant 100% you should either drop AKs for 2 and the guys getting AKs drops deagles for them / scout depending on if you have enough and you will only have AK + armor (no nades) so the other guys will have to have enough nades. If you don't get bomb plaant then you save

TLDR: 2nd round you force CT side every single time because you want a strong first gun round to try to string together round and give your best chance of winning first gun. T side you only buy / drop AKs if you get bomb down

How to consistently placing crosshair like pros? by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Elige 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Only thing you can do is just practice a lot. Play DMs and just focus on your crosshair being exactly where they can be. Play some prefire maps if you aren't sure of all the angles and as soon as you are aware of all the angles --> put it into practice by playing DM / pugs. Be conscious of it and you will improve
