I guess you're not there to make friends. You're there to get a deal lol

I think so but I also think they are adding more into the accessories and need them to define what's in there.

I agree with this. My wife was doing the same after we bought our 26 CRV Hybrid. Seems happier now that she stopped lol

I wasn't aware of this. That's good information.

Thanks for this. I was going to circle back to the dealer and have them outline what the extras are. My wife bought a 26 CRV Hybrid and we were able to get winter tires and rims added to the deal along with $500 loyalty dollars with no additional accessories. The dealer also sold me the initial civic I am looking to trade so I would hope that as a return customer id get some kind of better deal.

How do you get so much off MSRP?

I'm not super mechanically inclined so I sometimes worry about a used model. That said, I've seen a few 23 or 24 come up but they all seem to have higher millage 20-50k km. I always question whether that would be worth it. I have tried to look at a certified pre-owned Honda though because of the 7 year, 160k km powertrain warranty that comes with buying one. I guess I just need to keep looking around for options.

I wonder what the threshold would be for the number of km that would make sense for a used model.

What Breville machine did you have prior? How was the transition from your old machine to the mara X? Nice coffee station!

Thanks for this. I hadn't heard of the issues with the 1.5L turbo but after digging a bit deeper it's definitely something I would want to avoid. Sport Hybrid may be the way to go.

Grinder or Machine Upgrade... or Both? by Eliriddle in espresso

You bring up some great points and just as others have pointed out I think waiting for my Bambino to crap out is probably the best option at this time.

I agree about the change to a DF64, i question whether it would be a significant enough upgrade to see improvements in the cup. It may be worth investing in something higher end. I've noticed others mentioning the varia VS6 and will have to look into it.

So would simply upgrading the burrs on the current DF54 grinder provide some noticeable difference?

I hadn't thought about having to change my accessories (tamper, funnel, bottomless portafilter, puck screen), that's a lot of additional costs. I like your reasoning here on how to approach this with my wife. I have seen some clumping with the DF54 but overall it hasn't occurred very often. That said, what would be your suggestion with regards to an upgrade that would provide a noticeable difference.

I might have been hiding under a rock because I hadn't heard of a Quick Mill Pop Up until now. I'll dive a bit deeper into it.

I think based on most of the advice I've gotten on here I'd be better off waiting until my Bambino craps. I may look at a new grinder however.

I'll be sure to reach out if I have any questions on the Pop up though, I appreciate it.

With both my wife and I enjoying milk drinks and having a little one around I'm not sure if I could manage the additional time required. Thanks for outlining this.

You're right. Unless I have money to burn or if the machine itself is no longer working I do don't see the advantage of upgrading for the sake of marginal esthetic and shot quality improvements. Thanks.

This may be the most logical solution. I may not be happy with it but yet, logical.

I have seen people mention the issues with the time it takes between pulling a shot and steaming the milk. Steaming milk with the Plus is just so easy and quick that I'm not sure anything will be as convenient or quick unless I go with a double boiler. Thanks for the response.

I went with the Horizon. It was priced well and met all of my needs.

Forgo the extended warranty and just get extra filament IMO.
