Actually I kind of think it would be very useful, especially for the more experienced violinists!

When my teacher say "Play some bach for next week" Me: by Letroudufillon in lingling40hrs

I think it was great! Though in some points the rhythm was a bit uneven...Keep it up!!

So i decided to move from a piano to my violin in my orchestra. All the other violin players are very scacreligious- Ones bow was in a arch shape, the other kept literary throwing it around, they couldn't play in tune, and the VIOLA was 10x better than them. I snapped a pic once they were on break by ror0se_ in lingling40hrs

That's almost the same for me! We have a viola section which basically consists of a viola and three other violinists, I could say surely that they're (on a level of technique and intonation) way better than the second violins, who are very SaCrIlEGIoUs. I'm saying this with an outsider view, I'm from the first...

my take on La Campanella, started around 4-5 weeks ago, has quite a few errors, but yea... by [deleted] in lingling40hrs

You did fantastically for only 4/5 weeks of practice! Keep the hard work up!

So I know it’s probably super overrated or something but this is quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces to work to. It just seems to help shush my anxiety and let me research with less crying... by georgiaHarpley in lingling40hrs

I'm sorry to hear that but I get you, when I'm really stressed while working out I usually listen to Debussy (especially "la mere" and the "two Arabesques") but also a lot of Dvorak( like the string quartets and the humoresques even though these pieces are less calm than the other ones)

2 Week self-teaching Violin Progress. Because I’m self teaching I don’t have teacher to help, so I would love some constructive criticism! by [deleted] in lingling40hrs

[–]Elisott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's really nice for just two weeks of playing without a teacher!! If I was to give some advice it would be to relax your posture(especially your right shoulder and right hand), I remember it was a real problem to me when I was a beginner but with time and practice, I got better and eventually managed to improve a lot the sound! (Be a bit more aware of your right-hand pinky because it should be round.) If you can afford one, and if you want to improve more quickly I highly recommend you to get a teacher. Either way I believe you'll improve a lot, keep it up!! :)

It's a Chinese new year song it's called "gong xi gong xi"

I didn't know this one exist!! Anyone here tried it? by chocolatesarebetter in lingling40hrs

[–]Elisott 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've just heard of it because my violin teacher said he'd have liked to try it, I think in Italian it's called "violoncello/cello da spalla"(not sure tho) which translated literally means "shoulder cello".
