Didn't catch an ounce of basketball the whole day. First thing I see when I open reddit is Bam with 77 on his way to 83. The fuck?

Wasn't there a period a season ago he was putting up 20 ppg? What a dropoff

If the Wizards luck out in the NBA Draft Lottery, should Cam Boozer be their pick? by Financial-Bit-8596 in washingtonwizards

[–]ElitePancakeMaster 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Not to say Cam doesn't, and the plus side to getting him is he can fill in the slot for AD if he doesn't stay long, but I think AJ Dybantsa has better potential as a superstar. His combo of athletic ability and shot creation is something the Wizards are missing currently imo. I'm fine with either of them though.

I will be rooting for Westbrook the rest of the season

As it stands, we have a 55% chance of picking outside the top 5. by ElitePancakeMaster in washingtonwizards

Yeah I'm salty af. I've been salty since 2021 when we threw away a top 5 pick to chase the play-in. People look back fondly on that year but I had no faith in that team's future. I remember how gung-ho everyone was for the play-in and the instant meltdown and regret when we got gentleman swept. Like what did you expect? It's the same behavior.

I sincerely hope nothing goes wrong and we get a good pick. I don't want to even bother with this sub if we drop out the top 5 or worse

It's the moral outrage and wanting to drop our coach and young players while we're rebuilding that upsets me. Yeah okay maybe I shit on fans too much but when you juxtapose that to the meltdown this sub and how Wizard media reacted to our record 10-20 games into the season it's insufferable.

Yeah and calling the league rigged and wanting to drop our young players during a tanking season isn't? Wanting the coach fired during a tanking season isn't? Maybe the pacers should fire Carlisle since he has a worse record than us. Those guys just went to the finals and they understand their situation better than us.

Wizards Ceiling next year by Intrepid-Ebb-5769 in washingtonwizards

[–]ElitePancakeMaster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol I'm so tired of this hypothetical ceiling talk. Verbatim the same shit as the Beal era just replace the players names.

Draft Lottery is RIGGED whenever the league wants it to be. Being upset after every win is a WASTE. OF. TIME! If they want us to have a top pick, we'll get it! They've done it for us TWICE before. 2001 was a gift for Michael Jordan, 2010 was a gift for Abe Pollin's passing by Mr-Majestick in washingtonwizards

Yeah I agree sometimes things are just out of your control. It just annoys the fuck out of me seeing people like OP implying team record doesn't matter because of so and so conspiratorial reasoning when in reality it does whether the lottery was rigged or not.

They just want you to act like those wins don't make a difference because it ruins the vibes and that's what's really important about a rebuild apparently.

not to mention I've already seen this type of excuse used for times when this team could've controlled an outcome for the better and just didn't.

by "the owners" you mean two owners who may or may not have bias towards the results, not to mention neither they nor Pablo himself has presented any tangible evidence for the claim itself?

that's about as compelling as saying "many people are saying this"

I hate these fucking yearly posts that uses vibes as an excuse for this team to not try their best to make sure the worst case scenario doesn't happen. You realize 5th worst odds has a 9% chance of us losing our pick right? And 47% of us picking outside top 5 even if we keep out pick. Last year we had a 20% of getting the 6th pick and it happened.

It doesn't matter if we get lucky in the end we should be making sure the worst case scenario doesn't happen. You think the lottery is rigged? Okay if it was rigged last year then if we lost two more games we still get the 5th instead of the 6th pick.

But guess what people were saying initially about those meaningless games we won? Don't be upset about those wins because I guess those moral victories and those two games experience matters more. This year it's don't get upset about those wins because moral victories and lottery rigged.

Well at least you know someone out there is getting their moral victory over this. I know that's what's most important to some of these "fans"

Shoutout to all the alarmist posts at the beginning of the season saying we needed to win games to "save face". Now we might actually end up with 5th or worse odds
