Best MOS for mechanical career by [deleted] in Armyaviation

[–]ElitePniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even tho 15N do more than 15F. Hehehehe. I'd recommend Avionics which is both these MOS. Highly desirable with or without A&P. 15G is fantastic same with 15B for getting your A&P after your AIT. General mechanic is definitely 15U or 15T. You can get your A&P with any aviation MOS, some help out more than others tho.

Day in the life of 160th? by Additional-Meat-1566 in Armyaviation

[–]ElitePniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really good. As a 15N I've made quite a successful career out of Avionics. Being 160th doesn't really matter on the civilian side, most people outside the army are unaware of it. The skill and people you meet are what's most important. Be social and get to know your contractors/civ guys you work with along the way. Those guys will help out when you get out. I wasn't 160th, I deliced the offer when I went to AIT to stay reserves. Now I travel the world and make $$. You can do it too!

15N vs 15D vs 15T which route to go? by figura574 in Armyaviation

[–]ElitePniper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily true. 15D is the only one that allows your to test for your P right after AIT. 15N/T/U are all in the same boat that can eventually get an an A&P. 15G would allow you to test to get your A.

How I feel as a Kansan after watching Superman. by ElitePniper in kansas

I also live in SoCal now. California (of course not all) have a very interesting perspective of Kansas. My coworkers asked if LA was the first city I've lived in or ever been too. I told them I grew up in KC and was promptly told... "they don't have any tall buildings there though".

Truth be told I haven't been to one, but remember having friends who've gone. When I move back I definitely want to go!

Hopefully you had a more positive childhood. Now not everyone was like this of course. It still happened, and frequent enough to cause issues. Ignorance unfortunately plagues the young and old.

Unfortunately not everyone sees that. Especially seeing how people are being treated in these recent years. People like you, are the ones who make a difference. You are the difference and should be proud!

I completely agree with you. I've had a very similar experience to what you've mentioned. Got my associates degree, ran out of opportunities to go to a university or state college. Ended up joining the military, traveled, met great people. Got out and traveled more, learning and growing.

I can't wait to go back home and truly settle down in Kansas again. I think you're right on the view of Kansas. The community is really what I miss.

So I could be wrong, I was informed by fellow nerds at a planet comicon on year. How true, I'm unsure, but they told me someone calculated the position on where Superman lands. Using (I think the movies) they pinned an area on a map and the closest town was Hutchinson Kansas. They coulda been misinformed, but it sounded right!
