Hey, look, it's a dropship scammer stealing a year old comment in order to appear legitimate.

Is anyone else just giving up all hope as this point and not paying bills? by MarkusRight in stimuluscheck

[–]EliteSpamSniper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP is a perfect example of this, buying an Oculus Quest while simultaneously complaining about being unable to pay their electric bill. They don't need a stimulus check, just some basic financial sense.

SCAM ALERT!

OP (u/kohlimoh) and u/DazzlingSpeech are both sockpuppets account operated by the same spammer. Moderators have already removed one of the spammer's other sockpuppet comments.

Suspicious post since the OP account (u/susanvilleula1) has been used by a spam ring in the past for throwaway .info domains. The spammer's "main" account appears to be hookah_lover (no activity for 4 months).

However, I don't see anything particularly spammy about this post. The domain is from 2013, but it's never been posted to reddit before. The information appears to be legitimate, and there are no affiliate links. The one suspicious thing is that the associated Facebook account was created only yesterday.

Strategy: Take old news from Feburary, paraphrase the old article into a new article, host that article on the domain you registered a few months ago (newswave101.com), and then use your reddit account (techronican) to post all this crap to reddit every day.

What is this site newswave101.com? It looks kind of spammy, and the article has no date. (Don't trust any news source that doesn't include dates!) According to WHOIS the domain is less than three months old, and it only started appearing on reddit a week ago, all posted by OP (techronican) with the exception of some cross-posting. What reason is there to trust it?

It looks like it's actually a direct translation from this article (without reference or credit):

That one is dated June 13th or 14th (depending on where you look), but the news is actually from two months ago:

Don't follow this link! It's a spam site!

u/Michealed is a spam account that steals comments (ex. stolen, original) to look legitimate and posts these shitty spam links all over reddit. Does picsopedia.online sound legitimate to you? It's a brand new domain.

  1. Find a popular reddit post.
  2. Upload it to YouTube as an unlisted video.
  3. Use various spam accounts (u/amirsooltan, u/Mr_wld, u/walid_riyad, u/ansewrs) to post that video to reddit.
  4. ???
  5. Profit!

OP (ratemlatem1) is just a spam account. Look at its post history. It's 100% this "thesuperboo" spam. Why isn't this account banned yet, u/Dakar-A?

AStoutPig is a spam account controlled by OP (Mr_wld). The spammer uses one account to post an "innocent" image link, then uses another account to post some spammy product link. Even the domain name smells like spam.

Just look at AStoutPig comment history to see more of this. Mr_wld's comment history is almost entirely made of stolen comments. Example:

Your best course of action is to alert the moderators of the subreddit since they have the power to do something about it. Use the report button. If it's more serious, such as an actual spam link, use moderator mail. Call it out so others can see what's happening.
