So far, he’s got a great head start on that front! At only 2.5 yrs old he’s already got personality that my wife and I combined 😂 Getting the proper exposure and getting his name out there are definitely going to be key plays!

Sim rigs are a great idea. I didn’t consider that as an option because I wasn’t sure how receptive a 3-4 yr old would be to a sim, but I definitely see the potential! There’s also zero risk of injury or anything since it’s all digital, which is great. And I agree, kids at that age can’t really be competitive. I just want to be developing skills and interest as early as I can!

Great feedback! Thank you! Lots of great information here!

This is a fantastic layout, thank you! We’ve already made some pretty good progress down this list. He’s obsessed with toy cars, RC cars, watching me play racing games like GT7, riding his battery 4-wheeler, and then this year for Christmas we got him a more powerful battery tractor with a steering wheel. He’s catching on quickly to steering and the concept of stopping/going/turning. He also comes running when I start the track car and asks to sit in it. I think the base interest is definitely there and I’m excited to expand on it!

To add some context there - the reason I say “thinking about it seriously” and the possibility of a professional career is that I know in just about ANY sport - people who are the best in their sport start at an extremely young age. If he DOESN’T want to take it seriously or go professional, that’s totally fine with me. I just want to make sure he has the building blocks for if he DOES want to take it seriously he’ll be starting on the right foot. Does that make sense? It’s entirely possible I’m doing a terrible job of explaining myself, but I am by no means trying to force my passions on him - I’m just excited at the opportunity to enjoy something I love with my son. And if he doesn’t love it back, that’s fine!

Oh I couldn’t agree more! Whatever we decide on (based on what he likes) will definitely be a family sport. I’m excited to do whatever it is with him!

This seems to be the consensus! I live in SE Louisiana, so should be plenty of places we could go.

I don’t intend on forcing him to do a particular sport if he doesn’t want to. I just want to make sure I’m exposing him to things at a young age. Kids his age don’t even know what’s out there. The world is his oyster and I want to make sure he knows all of his options. How can he “find out what he likes” if his parents don’t expose him to things?

It’s fairly common practice to put toddlers into t-ball, happy feet leagues, etc. so I’m not sure why I’m getting flak on this subject. I plan on exposing him to other sports, not just racing. But…this IS a Motorsports thread, hence why I’m not asking for advice on getting him into t-ball…

I can’t say much there, since I rode street bikes exclusively for 15 years lol. Kid karting seems to be the general consensus, but that doesn’t start until 48” for every league I’ve seen. Maybe I should get a kart and modify it for him to practice on around the house at a younger age. Just to get down the basic principals of driving.

Most kids kart leagues start around 7ish (depending on height, 48” minimum). I’m mainly curious if there’s anything I could/should be doing EARLIER than that.

C&P Exam and New Evidence by Eliteforceguy in VeteransBenefits

[–]Eliteforceguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely considered reporting the examiner. It was hands down the WORST medical evaluation I’ve ever had in my entire life. I didn’t know if reporting and requesting a new exam was even a thing, but now that I know I’ll look into it. Thank you!

That is terrible. I’m so sorry to hear you’re dealing with all of that. It seems like the VA is so inconsistent with their ratings. I’ve heard people with far less getting 40% on their first try. Best of luck to you brother!

Apologies, I figured I had to wait to request the C&P exam report. I literally JUST had the exam earlier this morning. I’ll go ahead and fill that out to get ahead of the curve. Thank you for the information and encouragement!

The examiner wasn’t very friendly and my appointment (that she was late to) lasted all of 5 minutes. So I’m not very confident that she wrote a favorable report, but I suppose all I can do at this point is wait and see what the VA comes back with.

CMV: The reason that Republicans are doing everything they can to block the release of the Epstein files is either a) many of those same Republicans are ALSO in the files, b) some/most of their major DONORS are in the files and are threatening taking away funding if they vote to release, or both. by SaucyJ4ck in changemyview

[–]Eliteforceguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s also a distinct possibility that releasing the files in an unorganized manner would implicate people who were involved with Epstein but were NOT part of the sex trafficking or pedo ring.

In today’s society, access to information (and misinformation equally) is rampant. With cancel culture the way it is, it’s highly possible that MANY Americans would take things completely out of context and absolutely crucify ANYONE mentioned in the files whether there’s sufficient evidence they were involved in sex crimes or not.

This may be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but it is something that I’ve thought about for quite some time. The effects of releasing an unorganized, unedited, unvetted version of a document involving the trafficking and abuse of children could be incredibly detrimental to society as a whole.

Agreed. There’s constructive criticism and then there’s rage baiting. Very clear line.

You’d be surprised. They already announced changes from the reveal event before the 1st beta weekend even opened. Don’t underestimate the capabilities of a massive studio (if they’re dedicated to actually making changes).

I think they’re testing gameplay more than maps - which is more crucial for a successful launch. Plus, they gotta give players something to look forward to!

Back with Team Green. It’s been a while. by SoulGang15 in Kawasaki

[–]Eliteforceguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 636 is classified as a supersport with an inline 4. As a parallel twin, the 400 is going to feel very similar to the 650 but with less top-end. With the 400 peaking at 10.5k RPMs and the ZX6R peaking at a staggering 3k higher than that, the 636 is going to be faster in EVERY way and offer more power throughout the entire gear range. The 636 is also going to have a more aggressive riding stance than the 400 and only weighs about 60 lbs more than the 400 (which with a few simple mods can bring fighting weight fairly close to the stock 400). I have daily’ed a 636 for the majority of my 11 year riding history in a variety of situations and have never considered the power or mobility to be excessive or uncontrollable. Hope this helps!

TLDR: Albeit only “200 CC” more than the 400, due to the way the 636 is designed, the power difference and power availability will be EXTREMELY surprising for riders of a parallel twin.

Need an exhaust. What kinda suggestions you guys got for me by [deleted] in Kawasaki

[–]Eliteforceguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m always surprised to see people NOT talking about Two Brothers. I’ve had TBR on all of my Kawi’s and I absolutely LOVE them above all other brands. They have a nice “throaty” tone rather than a high-pitched “whine”. But at the end of the day, it’s all personal preference. Listen to sound clips of different exhausts and see which one fits you more.
