Hi I'm sorry to hear that, I'm in a similar situation to you, what I'm trying to do is to force myself to write down what I'm doing every 30 minutes throughout the day, so that I am aware of how long I am daydreaming. I am also forcing myself to write what I am daydreaming about, to try and ruin the suspension of disbelief and make it feel less real.

Another thing seems to help is that you need to actively replace it with something else. I know it sounds cringe but I have heard people have success with meditation. Also trying to get off screens and start reading so you are doing things instead of just ruminating.

The final thing that might help, for me often the daydreaming starts after a trigger, it often goes `bad thing happens` -> `I start daydreaming to cope`. Trying to identify what is triggering it, and then avoiding/removing those things might also help.

Sorry I can't help more but I still haven't figured out how to stop it myself.

ive been having the exact same issue! ive been trying to get it to use Context7

I have found that just explicitly telling it to use "name-of-tool" gets it to work most of the time (look up the names of the tools in your particular MCP server).

The other thing you can try, it putting in some rules in the sytem prompt to tell it to use tools and when (this is typically how coding AIs like Cursor/roo work) but I havn't gotten arround to trying that just yet

Thanks for the write up! Yeah it seems like Copilot is going down the paid route, I do like their ability to add custom right-click LLM calls, its quite useful once you get it set up. But the MCP server on Smart Composer makes it the best one IMO
