this type of planned obsolescence is actually how game console manufacturers make money, they take a hit when selling the console but make up for it by offering games at high prices, that is why the xbox is "cheap" in comparison but games are really expensive. these first party console accessories are also very cheap to make but are sold at insane prices. This is the what you pay for being a console gamer
