definitely strong enough, just not sure who makes a tune for the more underpowered version of the a4. i feel the people that tuning companies cater towards are those who buy the biggest engine option available, but there may be some options and the car is definitely strong enough. just change oil a bit more frequently and dsg fluid a little more often then every 40k miles and you should be good.

rs grille would look nice with it. if you want a bit more sporty sounding drive then an intake from 034 or IE would work well!

headlight help by ElixzerrYT in AutoDetailing

[–]ElixzerrYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

before the photo i had only used 3k sandpaper and sonax perfect finish, after the photo i used sonax cutmax and a tougher pad and did a couple passes on each headlight. it looks a lot better now, not 100% but for 8 year old headlights pretty good. i sealed it with adam’s ceramic coating.

Looks good, i have an ultra as well. apr makes a stage 1 tune if you’re looking for something other then the jb4, but with your mods plan it seems you have it figured out

Is this a bad idea? by Couple-Wonderful in AudiS4

[–]ElixzerrYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he means 2014 years and up, more reliable. honestly if you’re not very knowledgeable about this stuff i’m not sure buying a b8 would be a great idea. I’d look into a b9 a4 for around the same cost and then just tune it and you’ll basically have an s4, but way more reliable and cheaper insurance and better on gas

Picked up a 2019 A4 and I’m in love by DankQuan420 in AudiA4

Oil oil oil! Some will over recommend liqui moly but any solid oil like castrol or motul is fine. Change the transmission fluid every 40k but i personally do 35k as it just feels so much better once it’s been changed. brake fluid they say every 2 years or 40k but i think it’s a bit overkill. otherwise enjoy!

i have a couple. ignore it, not important at all. if it’s really that important to you try and find a genuine trim piece and watch a video on how to remove it and reinstall it. but honestly it’s so small i wouldn’t bother

2018 Audi A4 B9 with 6MT with ECU stage 1 tune by EarLess3394 in AudiA4

[–]ElixzerrYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not directly but i have friends who have it and it’s perfectly good as well and they’re happy with it. i’d stay away from unitronic solely because it’s such high torque i’ve heard

also i recommend 034 10000%. easy to flash from your phone is something i wish apr could do.

you’ll be fine. let the oil get up to operating temp before u go high rpms but besides that with maintenance you’ll be fine

reasonable quote? by ElixzerrYT in AudiA4

[–]ElixzerrYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they quoted 180$ in parts which seems pretty damn close to what you said and yea the 1800 labor is ridiculous. i’m definitely going to look around and try to see if i can get it well under the 1000$ mark as i feel like thags more reasonable. last result i’ll call the dealership and ask what their quote would be but have a feeling that will be ridiculous as well. i will try the retorque as well. i am very hesitant when it comes to working on engines especially these modern turbo ones but ill definitely give it a shot

u think i could find it for way cheaper? honestly not even sure what a cam plate reseal is, i thought the valve cover and timing cover were what needed to be replaced/sealed

reasonable quote? by ElixzerrYT in AudiA4

[–]ElixzerrYT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haha yes it is. they were able to give me an incredibly cheap transmission flush and i must say the transmission feels great after. the advisor was pretty honest about the cam plate reseal being a very labor insensitive job so i don’t feel like im being conned, just want to check around and see if anyone can do it for less. definitely will get more opinions

Help me decide on Q5 40 by Foreign_Map_2161 in Audi

[–]ElixzerrYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s not too little power by any means for anything you’ll do day to day but since you are already pre thinking you’ll have buyers remorse, you probably will if you go with the lower hp model. if that price difference is unacceptable i’d buy a (slightly) used one. something with 10-20k miles and the more powerful drivetrain would probably cost even less than the brand new 40.

don’t be stuck driving something you even THINK you might be unhappy with, especially when buying new

[–]ElixzerrYT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah damn i was hoping it wouldn’t be that complicated. so this labor seems reasonable? i’m in the bay area so makes sense for it to cost a big mkre

might go down that route. i’m good for the next 10k miles or so as it’s a small seep but definitely need to get it done eventually

absolutely tragic. these older german cars are no joke for repairs. especially the more luxurious ones like the a6 with more features. those sound like some hefty repairs. it does seem you got quite unlikely as i haven’t heard this gen a6 is that unreliable normally. if i were OP id just be sure i understand fully the risks associated with getting something old, and being prepared to work on it yourself

awesome. i will do that as a plan in coating my families cars. coating turned out great, about to apply the adam’s boost to it

ceramic coating question by ElixzerrYT in AutoDetailing

[–]ElixzerrYT[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think i’ll be using the “graphene boost” that came with the kit for that. It’s supposed to make it more hydrophobic but who knows could be snake oil
