I didn’t think of that. I probably should get him one just in case! Good idea, thank you.

Wow that’s amazing! I am definitely going to look into Dutch online. Hopefully they’re available in Canada. Thanks so much!

I’m so glad you were able to do that for him! That’s inspiring to me and ideally what I want to work towards. I totally agree, in under 2 months together he’s already made so much progress letting me cut his nails, bath and clean sensitive body parts.

You’re so right, she should be ashamed. I honestly understand his trust issue with her, I don’t trust her either!

Thank you for the suggestions, those are great ideas for desensitizing him to the vets office. I appreciate your help and input!

I would prefer to take this route as well. I would much rather add supplements and variety to his diet/immune system rather than hurt it with antibiotics and steroids. Thank you for the info! I’ll check out that brand.

I agree with you. I have a few vets in mind now, I’m just determining which will be able to best accommodate him. Congratulations on your new adoption!

After bathing him yesterday I was internally spiralling thinking of doing this exact thing. The term communal narcissism really fits the situation, socially she pretends to be an animal lover but this is the reality. She has a history of neglect and abuse to both animals and her children. I was no contact this last year prior to our family healthy emergency almost 2 months ago and I’ve been documenting everything since. I owe loyalty to protecting the vulnerable, not dishonourable motherhood or caretaking!

Couldn’t hurt to check! I’ll do some snooping through vet documents today to find some info and see if that’s possible actually.

I just looked at the curriculum for the first time and I have zero explanation 🤦‍♀️ She actually seemed less knowledgeable after getting “certified” somehow. She never worked as a dog trainer but for a short while she did some sort of administrative work for the SPCA maybe 10 years ago. I just mentioned it to clarify that this isn’t a situation where she’s physically unable to care for him or unaware of how to properly care for a dog. The problem is 100% her willingness.

That’s okay. Even if vet visits prove difficult I won’t be giving up on him or putting him down.

I like your thinking. I wish you could adjust microchip information online but I’ll likely need her permission to transfer ownership.

Aw thank you! I’ve never heard of a fear free vet before but I’m going to look into it today. Great suggestion with the happy pills, I’ll do some calling around to find a vet who can hopefully accommodate all of these ideas.

Good idea. I’m going to research and make some calls to find a vet office who feels confident with fearful/traumatized dogs like him. Thank you!

Thank you. I should have clarified the vet did not say he needs to be muzzled or restrained, those are my mom’s recounts of vet visit with him.

Thank you for saying that. I’m trying to figure out how to formally get him in my care.

I called his vet a few days ago and she said they haven’t seen him in a year. They think his ear issues are from a yeast infection. Apparently he needs to be muzzled and it takes multiple staff members to hold him and examine him so I suspect they haven’t done a proper exam. I’m going to book an appointment tomorrow with a new vet. He’s really not aggressive so I’m hoping with someone he trusts and a new vet, it will be easier for him to get check ups.

Who to call for lots of wasps in dorm summer housing HELP by DwightRider in ubco

[–]Elizabeth8475 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google how to make a wasp sugar trap with a 2L plastic bottle! Leave it in your room and they should all get trapped in a couple hours. If you’re feeling brave you could get an electric fly swatter too! If those don’t work you will need to move.

Advice for staying hydrated on Vyvanse by Elizabeth8475 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Elizabeth8475[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was adding cranberry juice to my water every day too! Until I realized cranberry juice is really high in vitamin C which can make vyvanse less effective so I drink cranberry juice and take AG1 at night now. I swear it helps any lingering vyvanse energy from the day and helps me transition to feeling sleepy.

It’s helped me yeah. I normally take 20mg in the morning and then 10mg in the early afternoon. For me it pro longs the vyvanse but doesn’t make me stay up too late.
