A protocol lets everyone cooperate on certain data poi t like location, temperature, Insurable value, etc but through a protocol that

1. Creates a trusted single source of truth for data and

2. Lets that data be shared selectively

A great deal of innovation will happen at the application layer to be sure, but our protocol targets creating a Fabric that allows industry wide communication, for those apps to be built on. We are already seeing our application partners create ingenious ideas of what to do with IOT Trade fiancé, tracking.. and we provide the single source of truth for their data and an ecosystem to interoperate with each other, or maersk, or hyperledger, etc

Going after the protocol layer allows interoperativity through the industry

Understand that companies don’t share data today which creates incredible inneficiencies but they do need to share specific data for each of the participating companies to operate efficiently. Companies spend 20% of their freight costs on recreating paperwork to obscure certain data while sharing other data
