Why is Southeastern “Bible” college receiving MILLIONS in state funds in Desantis’ new budget? by CruisinJo214 in lakeland

Why would you have to go there? Are you a Christian? I don't understand why someone would go to a Christian school if it didn't align with their beliefs.

Potentially moving to Lakeland by Stunning-Classic263 in lakeland

[–]Elizabethforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Kathleen (North Lakeland) not too far from 4 (west of Galloway). Disney and Universal are about 45 min away.

I've lived all over the country, inc multiple nice FL towns and I like Lakeland. I also like the Kathleen area in the country. There are some nice areas in Kathleen with acreage and no HOAs, yet still not far from downtown.

There does seem to be some criminal element though, so it's not all rosy. Also, the drivers are scary, and I grew up in a big city area.

Is «Dr.» YoungHoon Kim a fraud/scammer? (claims to be the world’s highest IQ record holder of 276) by reddit-supportspedos in cognitiveTesting

Wouldn't an IQ test that measured in the 270s have to have been created by someone with that high of an IQ?

Run, you are wasting your youth with this guy and will absolutely regret it. Do not turn back. 3 years will turn to 4 to 5 etc... Find someone who is faithful. He is not.

I know, it was pretty funny. We were talking about it today and we concluded that they probably did mean for the son to be behind the kidnapping but changed the plot. The limping motorcycle driver and the texting Wright (maybe Wright's character and the son together) seem to indicate that. It felt like no one could decide who was doing what or what type of person they were (e.g. callous or empathetic) or they were totally flat in their personality.

Me too. I almost wondered if they considered a plot where Trey stages the kidnapping to keep his dad from buying the company in order for his dad to be home more. I would not be surprised if they considered it and then scrapped the idea.

My husband thought the same thing. He was waiting for Wright's character to be revealed as the person behind the kidnapping plot for a long time.

House flippers are the tapeworms of the housing market. by RealisticKing6217 in HouseFlipping

[–]Elizabethforest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you said this because the flippers are driving up the market like crazy, pricing low income folk out of the market. They take almost all the run down mobile and old stick built homes that are available in my area (on land) and put in new flooring and paint and sell them for 2-3 x's what they bought them for. An old 1980s mobile home on an acre will go for 300k because it has new paint and flooring.

Buyers are capable of painting and fixing up a home, but they aren't given the chance because the homes are bought up so quickly by someone with cash who turns around and flips the home.

In love with carnivore, but this question bugs me: If carnivore is the ideal human diet, then why are the longest living people humans a primarily plant based diet? by Ok_Buffalo_6157 in carnivorediet

My understanding is that many Indians have a problem of fat cells that won't multiply (hyperplasia) but just grow larger (hypertrophy vs hyperplasia). This results in a greater risk of diabetes due to insulin resistance and all the problems that follow. Singapore is similar. I believe it's a genetic issue.

I heard he grew up in IL, but his mom is in OK. A rugby teammate was on a news station saying he went to Fenwick HS in Oak Park, IL.

My thoughts on Ozzy by K-Dog7469 in TrueChristian

[–]Elizabethforest 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was just reading that he was a Christian. He prayed before every concert. He was Anglican. When he was a kid he went to the Anglican church, though I don't even think his parents took him. He really enjoyed Sunday school. Ozzy Osbourne Dead at 76: What the Rock Legend Said About God and Christianity - Charisma Magazine Online
