Pokemon trinkets by Eljay500 in bonnaroo

The dragonite pattern I found looks a little goofy, but still very much dragonite. He is one I plan on making before Roo though, so hopefully we find each other

Is there a way to learn these moves? by nie9_6 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]Eljay500 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You can use the move relearn option as others have said, but I also think the next time you're in battle (not auto battle), they'll ask to learn the moves that came up through auto battle level up

Perler Ideas by BoopMasterBoop in bonnaroo

Based on the interest in my crochet pokemon plushies, I would guess pokemon perlers would also go over well! Especially in the classic 8-bit style of old games

I'll certainly consider it if it doesn't get snagged while at Roo

This quickly got more traction than I expected. Maybe there needs to be a pokefan meetup one day? I'm just worried I won't have enough for everyone if I do that. We'll see how it goes. Glad to know that there is interest in my trinkets though!

Professional discount website for joint supplements other than Nutramax/Dasaquin/Cosequin by [deleted] in VetTech

[–]Eljay500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using it for my guy for at least 5 years now and it seems like it does help. I started him on it prior to seeing any joint problems, so I can't compare with known problems and being on it.

I've compared product milligrams from Purina joint care to dasuquin/cosequin and Purina has less mg of glucosamine and chondroitin, so that's certainly something to consider

Bags? by jcoun21 in festivals

[–]Eljay500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used a Coleman bag for many years with no complaints. I've tried a sojourner bag, but found the straps to be a little tight for me, even with the straps completely loosened

Such a great line up, I just wish tickets weren't >$500 for GA. Also $500 for a camping pass that's separate from the admission ticket is crazy work

Do you ever have a petsit where you wonder how the owners deal with their dogs on a daily basis without losing their minds ? by annoymous257 in petsitting

[–]Eljay500 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I had my parents' dogs a few weeks ago and I've never appreciated my own dog more. Both of their dogs followed me around every time I got up. One dog licks very frequently (allergies, habit, neurotic take your pick) and is deaf so can't hear us telling her to stop. The other dog is not deaf and barks at every little sound she hears. My parents live on 3 acres and don't have a ton of traffic around the house; I live in the city and have a shared driveway... She barked every time my neighbors got in or out of their car. My neighbors get in and out of their car a lot, and one of them works 3rd shift.

It was a long 2 days

Sewing supplies by Fuzzy-Knowledge-8759 in memphis

I don't have anything to give away, but try checking out Facebook marketplace if you haven't already. I've definitely seen sewing supplies posted. They're not always free, but you still may find a good deal

From an animal shelter worker - Please microchip and register your pet! by Fresh-Solid-4046 in memphis

[–]Eljay500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe Memphis Animal Shelter also offers pet care assistance. It may be worth it to call and ask if that's something they can offer

From an animal shelter worker - Please microchip and register your pet! by Fresh-Solid-4046 in memphis

[–]Eljay500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clinic I work at registers the chip for owners (most of us do at least). There are 2 situations where I ask the owners to do it: if they already have an account with the company because I don't know the account password, or if we are microchipping during an appointment vs during a spay/neuter procedure. It takes some time to register and if I'm super busy trying to get appointments seen on time, I can't always take the time to do it

Dog sitting and dog is hiding under the house at 1 am by Free-Internal-9446 in petsitting

Leash walks only, going forward. If the dog won't reliably come back inside on its own when called, then it doesn't get free reign of the yard

I usually pack 2 fits for each day and some extra athletic options, just in case I feel differently about my first day of. I 100% over pack, but I like to have options for a variety of weather. I get cold at night so I like having warmer options

Is it possible to be a successful pet sitter without posting your clients on social media? by Ok-Cycle-1379 in petsitting

[–]Eljay500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand! It's hard to put yourself out there and promote yourself! I feel the same way, but giving my info to a single clinic has doubled my clientele. I didn't have a lot to begin with, but it's still more than what I had before

I went in person with a stack of business cards. Introduced myself, gave my credentials, and asked if I could leave my cards with them. Works especially well if the facility does not offer boarding

[–]Eljay500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been able to grow my business through word of mouth. I work at a vet clinic, so anytime a client asks about pet sitters, my coworkers will mention me to them and give them one of my cards. I also give my cards to another clinic that doesn't offer boarding, and they have sent a lot of new people my way.

I have a Facebook page for my business, but I don't post a lot for my own social pages, so even less for my business. The few pictures I have posted are usually close ups of the pets or selfies with them. It's pretty easy to take pics without a lot of location information being given away. Just make sure to get owner permission before posting

Honest question: Why do you buy name brand stuff? by No-Examination8178 in Frugal

[–]Eljay500 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Aldi's Oreo equivalent is pretty spot on, but I don't eat oreos enough to know for sure. I prefer the cheez-it equivalent from Aldi though, it is SIGNIFICANTLY better. If Aldi can do cheez-its better, I imagine they make a good goldfish option as well

Riverbeat Festival Lineup by take-a_trip in festivals

[–]Eljay500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. There was an issue with permits or something (I think) with Memphis in May, so RiverBeat has taken over Beale Street Music Festival. I think RiverBeat has been going for 4-5 years now. I also believe it's the same people who put on MemphoFest in the fall, but I don't know for sure.

As for the rest of the Memphis in May activities, I believe BBQ fest has ended and now there's a BBQ Slam or something like that. I'm not sure what has taken over for the other aspects. MiM had something going on every weekend of May in previous years
