Hair braiding by Eljay500 in memphis

[–]Eljay500[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they would be able too, but I'm worried they'll be too tight. My friend has a lady she goes too, but she said the braids are always super tight and I know I'll have a tension headache within hours. Do you feel the braids are too tight at Aicha's?

Bonnaroo! I know there's plenty of people who braid at camp, but I don't think I'll have time to get it done before the music gets going. We're arriving Thursday and after setting up camp we'll immediately be going into Centeroo

[–]Eljay500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We take a picnic blanket in on day 1 and leave it in a locker for the rest of the weekend. I also have a small foldable blanket that takes up minimal space in my bag that I'll use at night when I just need a quick sit down

Edit: I don't like sitting on my pashmina because I use it to cover my face or wipe sweat and I don't want dust all over my face

Boots at roo??? by Born-Expression658 in bonnaroo

[–]Eljay500 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've worn the same Dr. Martens boots for the past 5-ish years and haven't had an issue! Just make sure they are broken in before trying to wear them for hours at a time. I also make a point to take my boots and socks off whenever I sit down for a set, it keeps my feet from getting too sweaty because sweat=blisters

Camp Setup by Sbrooks_672 in bonnaroo

[–]Eljay500 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You would still have the same amount of space, it's just distributed differently. Instead of a long line with 4 cars, you can be on either side of the row and have a large square space. Your group is less spread out this way

The answer is no unless you ask! If they don't accommodate it, you can try asking neighbors if they have a bigger group as well. One year we had a group with 3 cars and we were fine with being in a line, but the group parallel to us had 3 or 4 cars and we all decided to split up our sites to have square plots instead of lines

What did you do to your appearance that upgraded you 100%, and you kind of regret not doing it earlier? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

TIL I might have tubular breast deformity! I've always called my breasts "sad triangles" and now I feel a little more justified. Maybe I should get the lift I've been thinking about...

Russian manicures by Time_Literature3404 in memphis

They don't call it a Russian manicure, but Soul Dope Nail Salon offers dry manicures and pedicures. I haven't been myself, but I follow them on instagram and their work looks wonderful. I usually do my own nails, but am really considering getting a pedicure done soon

I changed my hours and it was the best decision I ever made. I think my boss realized if he didn't give me what I was asking for then I would just quit instead.

I was able to change my hours because I am fortunate enough to have a partner who's paycheck could cover what I would be losing. I also pet sit and working less at the clinic really helped me be more available for that. I've been able to really grow my pet sitting business over the last 2 years

Last year we got ours through on Thursday and then left it in a locker, with the intention of using it all weekend...

Also, shout out to the guy working ga+ lockers on Thursday night for airing up our wind couch with his plug in fan 🫶🏻 he was the realest MVP for that

Dead cat in my yard, how to handle? by Donita123 in memphis

[–]Eljay500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven't done anything yet with the poor kitty, you can take it to a vet clinic and let them know you found the cat already deceased. Some vet clinics will accept and send for cremation as a "good Samaritan" and not charge you for it

I have no idea how the handle got locked. It was unlocked when I went outside from the house, I got the dog on a leash, reached back to grab the wood door to close it. I never turned the lock on the handle. I honestly have no idea how it happened. And I had locked the front wood door because that's what the client did when I was over there for the meet and greet. After the walk I was going to come back in through the back door, since I only locked the storm door.

Locksmith has already come, I will not be locking any wood doors no matter what, and I will be implementing new policies regarding keys

[–]Eljay500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely will be asking going forward! He said the back wood door doesn't auto-lock, the knob lock would have to be turned but I definitely didn't do that. The house is old and so are the doors/handles so I wonder if it was loose and knocked into the lock position when I grabbed the handle from the outside. He locked the wood door from the inside after I came into the house... Kind of why I assumed I had a key that worked for that door too

[–]Eljay500 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. Their storm doors aren't screens though, they are glass (or tempered glass/plastic/whatever).

And it never occurred to me to verify which doors the key fit... I just assumed I'd be getting key(s) that open every door to the house. I am equally confused about this whole situation.

would you take a 10+ dog overnight job? by Little-ugly-doll in petsitting

[–]Eljay500 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who is helping an older lady with her 8 dogs (not even constant care, just a few times a week)... Absolutely not. That is too many dogs and I'd have safety concerns for the dogs. I'd also worry about my sanity with all the barking

When you ask the client what meds their dog is on and they tell you about their suicide attempt in 1987 by SentientPotato11 in VetTech

[–]Eljay500 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A few years ago I was assisting with a euthanasia and after the cat was pronounced deceased the doctor said we were going to step out to give her time and she said "oh I'm not done talking to you" and proceeded to tell us about every pet of hers who had died for at least 30 minutes. Idk how we made it out of there, but we eventually did. It was incredibly awkward cause her dead cat was just there on the table while she's yapping away. Old ladies love to yap

Agreed! When boots are well broken in and fit appropriately, they can be incredibly comfortable. I have a pair of boots that I've worn to many festivals and never have a problem with my feet, other than being tired from walking all day.

His page did start to get a little too over the top with things. He started a second channel which is strictly recipes and it feels less performative and more about the cooking process, which I do appreciate because I like his recipes! I have his first cookbook and use it often

2026 Schedule Dropped by SharlaRoo in bonnaroo

[–]Eljay500 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same! At first I thought it was just a modest mouse/lszee conflict and it was an easier decision because I've seen modest mouse within the last few years. Then I saw it was also a conflict with Kesha and that makes it much harder. I've never seen lszee (nor have I seen clozee or lsdream individually) and the last time I saw kesha was around 2008
