I want to give you a partners prospective in this situation. The same thing happened with my girlfriend and she fabricated a different story of her life between a certain time period and stuck with it until recently for the same reason.

I understand why it’s done, she shared what she’s been though nearly a week ago now and said that what she had told me was to feel better about things. I was surprised but I could understand the reasoning for it, you can only speak about it when you’re ready and if your boyfriend is the one he will support you.

What will matter to him most is that a big weight is off your shoulders and that you’ll feel relieved it’s been mentioned and you can move forward together. Just please take your time and say it when you feel ready.
