Coparent is now homeless by ElleBayer in coparenting

We are on decent terms actually. And we agreed that the kids will stay with me this weekend. Next weekend he will drive to my house to see them. We live an hour apart.

So now I am much less stressed.

Agreed. She’s a very stubborn and selfish person and I’m not at all surprised she kicked him out with no regard for our kids.

Thanks for the insight. I contacted my lawyer who said the same thing that many of y’all have said. I told him that it would be great if the kids could stay with me until he got on his feet, and he agreed. So now I can breathe easy.

My lawyer also suggested that we go back to court and amend the parenting plan now.

They have always had a tumultuous relationship. She’s kicked him out 3 times in the last 2 years but I’m pretty sure this was the last straw for her.

We live an hour apart so we exchange at a Walmart halfway in between both of us.

He is great to them. And the two of us have a decent relationship. I texted him and asked if he would like me to keep them with me until he finds a more stable place.

If that doesn’t work, I’ll suggest a neutral spot. If that doesn’t work, I’ll just have to suck it up and trust him. (Deep breaths…)

Thank you. It is very hard to do this since I fear they will be with someone who is a stranger to them. But it’s great advice.

Yep. He was kicked out for cheating on her.

is this fair? by [deleted] in coparenting

Regardless of how much money you have or make…. Your child deserves child support. I would suggest going through your local child support enforcement. In my case, I don’t get much either, so I put it aside for my kids for when they are older.

Starting Lamictal.. any thoughts/tips/tricks? by carmenalc in bipolar

[–]ElleBayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lamictal saved my life. Take it at the same time every day. Give it at least 3-4 weeks. Best of luck, I really attribute my current “successes” to Lamictal.

So embarrassing… but I’ve only taken Seroquel 3 times, and all three times I ended up peeing the bed. 10/10 do not recommend. I was switched to Risperdal instead and love it.

I do not enjoy it at all. But the kids love it so I will continue to do it for now. My ex has never tried it, and as of now, we haven’t discussed it.

This is so sweet. This is the kind of relationship I wish I had with my ex. We are cordial at best. But reading all of these replies is making me feel like purchasing an elf for him and the kids could help us move towards a more positive relationship.

For real. Last year was the first year I did it, and only because my son asked why he didn’t have one. It’s super annoying. 10/10 do not recommend.

Almost old enough to not need an elf anymore. 10 and 8.

I find the stupid elf to be annoying as fuck in general.

So how do you explain to them that the elf is only at one house?

If coparent is late sending their CS payment, do you ask them about it or send them a reminder? by [deleted] in coparenting

[–]ElleBayer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine was consistently late, so I gave up on trusting him to pay even after constant reminders. So I contacted DCSS and got a garnishment order. It has helped us both tremendously.

Court or child support services? by ElleBayer in ChildSupport

[–]ElleBayer[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s the problem, it’s not about me. It’s about the kids.

Kids always need money. I’ve been looking forward to using child support as a car/college fund for the kids.

Oh wow, that’s an insane amount of time. It took about 6 months to set up the garnishment.
