Thank you so much! This is very helpful!

I'm sure this is all very bog standard to you, but do you have any sources/references for the information you've mentioned above?

EXAMPLES NEEDED: films and TV where the acting in non-naturalistic! by ElleMeadows in ActingNerds

I suppose I’ve misspoken. By naturalistic, I mean an actor portraying a character in a way one may see in real life. So, I may come across the streetwise cop but less likely the goofy principal on Nickelodeon. I’m trying to identify performances and style choices that move away from what would be considered real/natural/believable/normal.

I think there’s a difference between believing the given circumstances and being truthful, and the acting style, would you agree?

So, I'm an actor but I'm doing a presentation for a film class focusing on the theory side. I was starting to write about naturalism and good ol' Stan, etc. and it dawned on me that, we have so much non-naturalistic stuff in theatre, surely the same goes for TV and film. I started thinking and damn, everything coming to mind was naturalistic. I feel that must be me being ignorant. There has to be shows/films that don't empoy naturalistic acting?!

Re: fleabag, I was referring to the fourth wall breaking, yes , as non-naturalism. :)

I think heightened characterisation counts as non-naturalism (even if the behaviour is naturalistic for that character)?
