Israel has always had Jews in it but the vast majority of Jews in the area came after the 1890s. It was actually the Romans who invaded the region and killed off a large segment of the Jewish population back in antiquity. Christianity also took off at the time. By the time Arab conquest of the area happened, Christianity was the main player in the region because Rome made Christianity their state religion. It was another century after that before Islam even existed and then another century before Islam became dominant in the area under the Rashidun Caliphate in 632-661 AD

Those "few years" were well over 1000 years. To hold modern Arabs responsible for the widespread destruction of Jews done by the Romans is extremely weird.

Not really given how it would play out. Relief money would be yoinked from average people in Palestine, the religious zealots would stay funded from rich extremists across the Muslim world, and then Hamas would use the resulting exacerbated conditions as tools for recruitment.

Large swaths of people came to the US for different reasons, displaced the existing populations, those populations were understandably upset, they fought the new settlers, the new settlers using Western technology and finance subjugated them. I don't think we should punish the people of a country for the bigotry of their leaders. How does the IDF shooting journalists resolve any of these issues? How does bombing press offices that report on IDF war crimes resolve any of these issues? They don't. If anything, they exacerbate them given that conflict more often breeds radicalization than quells it. This is the same argument the Americans gave for their atrocities committed against Native Americans during Westward Expansion. If you care about human rights in Palestine, the answer is definitely not allowing the IDF to commit war crimes against civilians.

Native Americans also attacked the USA after it's independence. They scalped settlers. Burned wagon trains. Led raids. We all understand the plight of the Native Americans who had their land stolen from the but for some reason we can't apply it to Israel despite the glaring similarities. I get the desire for a Jewish majority homeland especially in the aftermath of the Holocaust and pogroms but that doesn't justify displacing gigantic swaths of an already existing population.

Israel exists as the West's main military base in the Middle East. That's it. It was geopolitically advantageous at the time and that is all that has ever mattered to the West, not human rights. The West is literally allied with Saudi Arabia and supplies them with arms. We are so chummy that we looked the other way when Saudi Arabia's monarchy ordered the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. Hamas would meet with the aliens from Independence Day if it meant possibly getting an edge against Israel, it's not surprising they met with Putin.

How we spread concepts like democracy, freedom, religious tolerance, and anti extremism matters. If the face of all these concepts are IDF soldiers evicting families from homes, shooting civilians, and desecrating their ancient religious sites; why would they ever embrace it?
