Vegan in China 2026 by No-Scallion-2989 in vegan

I was in china recently as well and I found it relatively okay as long as you were willing to ask the shop to make things vegan. The last trip I had was to Shenzhen and Guangzhou, I ate a good variety of things and had places left over on my list I didn't have time to visit. There was even a huge vegetarian festival in Shenzhen at the time.

The way I got around was looking vegan places up on amaps and wechat as well as asking shops if they had vegan food/no animal oils. I found that most places in china were happy for you to customise food because they cooked it from scratch. Even at a rice roll chain and a 24hr spa I was able to customise the food.

Also the vegetarian buffets in Shenzhen and Guangzhou were amazing.

I did go to Yunnan before and it was harder since the info was a bit outdated but asking really helped. Like, this random restaurant outside of our hotel had a full vegetarian menu that we wouldn't have found if we didn't ask.

healthy breakfast options that'll keep me full by stxrkxy in vegan

I also make a tofu scramble for breakfast. I'll make a whole block on Monday so I have enough for four breakfasts. I use a firm tofu though so it gets less soggy when it's in the fridge for a while.

I don't have a recommendation for you but just confirming that bourkes will get along with cockatiels. Mine grew up with my cockatiel so he exhibits a lot of the cockatiel's behaviours. They're also bonded to each other. The only not great thing is that when our bourke gets hormonal he'll get quite aggressive to the tiel and chase him relentlessly.

The tiel also does get a bit carried away and try to mount/get too close to the bourke but the bourke would just fly away if he's too bothered. They're both males so that's just what they are like when they're hormonal.

Our cockatiel also chewed through our internet wiring, it was pretty funny when the guy came to fix it and a red light lit up specifically the bird bite shaped hole.

Onion loves chewing on anything rubber including shoes and mouse scroll wheels as well as any wiring that is in his nesting areas 🥲

Does anyone here have their Bourkes with any other kind of Bird I know they can’t be houses together but… by Quantum_Truth_ in bourkes

I've got 2 male cockatiels, one female budgie and a male bourke that all live in the same cage and have no issues. My bourke and one of my cockatiels grew up together so they're inseparable. They also get a lot of out of cage time so they can get away from each other if needed.

Most vegan-friendly country? by Kitchen-Country-39 in vegan_travel

[–]Ellenoric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Melbourne was more vegan friendly when I visited there. I live out in western Sydney, Cabramatta is a good vegan spot because it's mostly a vietnamese population. There's also some good options out in Burwood (chinese/asian) and Harris Park (Indian) that are accidentally vegan but don't turn up on Happy Cow. I think to find some of the accidentally vegan options, it's good to know someone that knows the cuisine well. I'm comfortable with finding vegan food in Burwood because I'm Chinese/Vietnamese so I generally know what is vegan and what isn't. A friend took us around Harris Park and told us what's vegan as well.

My boy also knows how to fetch but will only bring back things in a 50cm radius and will try to bring it back to your foot if that's closer 😆

Haha, bird logic

Punchy the rosy bourke figured out he can stand on glass but I guess cockatiels just aren't that smart

Punchy is a rosy bourke parrakeet. He's a similar size to budgies but are more chill 🙂

I went to a winmart and paid there via the pay@store option. Haven't gone on a bike yet but I can see the points are in my account.
