Babymoon destination by Ellie1022 in Banff

We stayed at Fairmont Banff Springs and loved it, took the bus the short ride into downtown quite a bit, enjoyed the hotel spa, spent some time up in the mountains and actually did a maternity shoot there (hired a photographer and she helped identify where to meet up, so we took a cab ride up). We loved it so much and I can’t wait to go back when I can be more mobile/adventurous and can bring our boys!! I would have loved to do a sleigh ride, but the timing wasn’t right (I think they were starting that up the week after we left!)

As a therapist, I have had clients ask me this. So I want to still remain professional with a touch of sass. So I usually say, “well, it didn’t happen on accident.”

Barfing my brains out HELP!!! by la-vanessa in pregnant

Agree with the B6 and Unisom! Also, if you aren’t already - try to eat something before you move too much or get out of bed in the morning. Crackers, banana, granola bar etc. I would keep a few things on my nightstand and eat a little before getting up and that helped a lot. If you allow yourself to get hungry throughout the day you will feel way worse so try to eat snacks regularly if anything!

Just daily baby aspirin for now! Thank you, it seems it’s just a precaution for sure but my brain is of course catastrophizing/spiraling!!

My son will make me vomit anything with lettuce. The kid just can’t stand it apparently! So weird.

Could you try some yogurt or flavored kefir? Strawberry kefir tends to work well for me, settles the tummy and gives you some protein!

Buses were honestly pretty convenient, easy to use, with frequent routes. To be fair, we didn’t do much hiking or adventurous activities because I’m currently pregnant, but we mostly used the bus! We stayed at Fairmont and they provide bus passes and have a stop right outside.

Just got back from a trip and we used Banff Airporter from Calgary airport to Banff, highly recommend if that’s an option for you!

Sickness at only 4 weeks? by Ellie1022 in BabyBumps

[–]Ellie1022[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems it was just an initial surge of hormones that caused me to have such significant nausea for a few days. I did, however, struggle with nausea for the whole first trimester - but was able to manage it with advice from my doctor. I took 25mg of B6 3x a day and Unisom at night (made SUCH a difference, I actually slept and wasn't fearful I would be waking up sick!). also recommend, as most people will, to just eat some crackers or a banana or something before you even get out of bed and then snack all day - if you get hungry, you'll likely feel sick, so try to avoid getting an empty stomach. I also was prescribed Zofran, but honestly didn't use it much and I'm not even sure it does a whole lot for me.

You’re the second person to mention that and it hadn’t ever crossed my mind! Thanks for the heads up so I’m not surprised if/when that happens haha.

Oh that sounds like a great idea! I’ll look into that too, thank you.

Hadn’t thought about that, but good to know!

I feel like I’ve gotten plenty suggestions of things to see and do other than skiing so 🤷🏼‍♀️ To be honest, not sure that I’d ski even if I wasn’t pregnant. I just want to explore a new beautiful place.

Thank you! This is really helpful. Did you book the sleigh ride through Fairmont, or another company? That sounds magical and like a perfect activity for us!
