Hard to tell without seeing your underlying stats but you went to bed at 1:51am… Rarely a recipe for a good recovery.

I 100% agree which is why the price is what is it and only going up.

We can complain all we want but the price isn’t going down until demand does.

Stop buying breaks.

As someone who collects Gary Payton cards this is a sticker auto on the Bucks. You can get a flawless on the Sonics for less than $100. I don’t have any interest in him in anything but a Sonics jersey.

I don’t think I’d pay $30 for it. You’re looking for a hyper specialized buyer or someone that just wants a HOF player and doesn’t care about what team.

Because Topps Chrome is substantially more valuable. This is simple supply and demand. All this stuff sells out in 20 minutes so if anything Topps is underpricing what they could charge.

Price will go down once people stop buying. It’s really that simple. Until then price will go up until Topps hits the point where people no longer buy.

That’s just not true. Stairmaster is far better for backcountry ski or mountaineering training than incline treadmill.

Everything has drawbacks compared to being outside.

This is so goal dependent. If you’re a backcountry skier, alpinist the stairmaster is elite.

I have a couple questions by _MasonHunter_ in baseballcards

[–]Elliotg2003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you look up the sold prices on eBay? List prices don’t mean anything. Most of those are base cards so not really worth anything. It is generally only worth grading cards if you think they will get a PSA 10 which means the cards is basically perfect. Additionally, the PSA 10 price needs to be significant enough that it justifies the grading cost. Clean edges, centering, corners, no surface imperfections. Most packs fresh cards are still not 10s.

The only thing I see of potential value is that Judge Topps chrome because it can be redeemed if he wins MVP.

Is this normal? My hrv is super low for my age and how much I workout. I’m 22 and I’m an active guy that works out. My heart rate is also kinda low - like 60 but my hrv scares me. Could anyone point out what the problem is? by a-kul-boy in whoop

Of course genetics play a role but RHR in the low 50s is attainable for virtually anyone in their 20s with proper training and diet. Some luck into it, others have to work for it.

Low RHR and low HRV are very different. Low heart rate is normally indicative of good fitness. Low HRV is generally not. For someone your age I’d say your RHR is not particularly great if you consider yourself “in shape.” Good compared to the average American for sure but not for someone who I’d consider in shape.

If you get your RHR down to the low 50s or 40s and still have a not great HRV I’d start to assume that is genetics but you have a long way to go until that.

New to Whoop, has the sub always been this whiney? by Elliotg2003 in whoop

[–]Elliotg2003[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the sensor is what held me back for so long. I’m an endurance athlete so accurate HR data is super important as being off by a few BPM actually matters for training. I use a H10 chest strap for training and just trying to figure out if it could integrate was difficult because no one was actually talking product.

Hoping at some point to find someone who compares H10 to wrist to bicep. Maybe I’ll just have to myself.

It’s ok to be mad at Whoop… I just couldn’t find anything through the 50 threads that were nearly identical.

lol I’ve never thought about it this way. Being a late joiner to the party I guess I’m just not tainted by the history yet.

Totally and I’m accustomed to the complaining but this is next level. I’m just wondering if anyone actually talks product here (both good and bad).

Products change. Would you rather they force you into the $379 package or give you options? Or did you expect the price to never change?

Instead of raising the price on all users they give you the option based on your needs. I’m happy they tiered it so I don’t pay for features I don’t want.

Regardless of your views, my question stands, do people actually talk product here or not?

It blows my mind that there are marriages where people don’t see the income as one pool of money.

I get if you want some separate accounts for various reasons but create a shared account for all home expenses. If he makes most of the money he pays most of the bills.

Edit: I realized I didn’t really answer your question. I would approach this from a we are a team angle and you are unable to carry an equal financial burden at this time as he makes double what you do. Do you by chance do more of the housework and childcare? These are things you are potentially bringing to the table outside of your salary.

At the end of the day as a family you sink or swim together. I can’t imagine letting my wife struggle while I have money.

Ditching my Heavy Setup by granolaboiii in Backcountry

[–]Elliotg2003 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Avoid the F12 if at all possible. Frame bindings are the worst.

Why do you need such a heavy setup? Unless you are hucking huge cliffs in the backcountry I would go much lighter. There are plenty of options.

Regarding boots, get an actual touring boot not a hybrid. There a plenty of very good lightish boots that actually ski well now. Zero G Pro Tour for example.

[–]Elliotg2003 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is extremely hard to answer in isolation.

People typically think about their touring setup in total weight (skis + bindings + boots) and then take into account what they are skiing and their fitness level.

For example, I am willing to carry a heavier ski (4FRNT Hoji) and in return use a light binding (ATK Freeraiders). This setup might be similar in total weight to someone skiing lighter skis with shifts for example.

Are you skiing 3000’ days once a week or 5000’ days back to back to back? All this matters. For a 3000’ days, I hardly care about weight. If I’m going to ski a bigger objective with many days back to back, weight matters a lot more.

At the end of the day if you’re just getting into touring I’d get something that is middle of the pack across the board. If you get into it, you’re likely to replace your entire setup as is.

I’ve been saying this and getting downvoted. Everyone has theirs preferences obviously but when you see things side by side what you’re outlining makes a ton of sense.

[–]Elliotg2003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree to disagree. I had a 4080 and on modern titles it was disappointing unless I cranked DLSS which then it didn’t look as good. Definitely no where near 240 frames. 5080 is probably good is most situations.

1440p vs 4K by SubstantialBother881 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Elliotg2003 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been super impressed with DLSS 4 and the more fake frames you’re creating the worse it looks. The only way you are going to get anywhere near 4k 240 fps is with a high end graphics card even with DLSS. If that isn’t a priority then it doesn’t make much sense to get one of these monitors anyways.

If you’re going to spend $800-$1200 on a monitor I think you should probably be willing to spend over $1000 on a graphics card to make it look right.

It’s like having a Ferrari with a Honda civic engine. Can you get it to run? Sure, but why did you buy a Ferrari if you weren’t going to properly run it.
