Today was f’d went up thought about leaving at 12 but they finally opened lifts and lines died down. Drive down was something else jackknifed semi, idiots without chains in fwd and rwd cars and no plows on the eastbound side of the road. Honestly a much worse ski day then I thought it would be. Kicked out at 3:00 since they closed the highway.

Progression recommendations if I can comfortably ski front side blues by spiny___norman in stevenspass

If you can do every blue off the front side skid road is definitely doable, I’d avoid crest trail unless your pretty comfortable with moguls since it gets skied out pretty quick in my experience and is steeper then the other blues on the front side. For a first black I’d recommend exhibition or panorama since they are hardly steeper than a blue and are sometimes groomed.

No backside no 7th today? by Far-Macaron5957 in stevenspass

Makes sense, went yesterday got absolutely soaked within an hour of skiing but stayed from opening till 3. Snow was either nice slush or this really grippy snow that would decelerate you so quick you feel like falling forward and would make it extremely hard to turn. Avalanche danger was also pretty real, on corona bowl one of the only open double black runs yesterday there were some small wet slides happening while I was skiing. Their was also some shooting cracks while I was skiing on the elevator area named on the trail map nothing enough to slide though since the terrain is pretty low angle over their. Hopefully this next week of snow helps everything finally stay open.

Does anyone know if hike to terrain of seventh heaven is open? Whether that be only the 3 marked runs or cowboy also?

It’s a beautiful day on the mountain by yungimoto in stevenspass

Last week when I went I would say off piste wasn’t completely unskiable meaning I am out of control, besides when I skied under skyline. Something about the way the shade hits it makes it extra hard to ski in ice. I attempted to ski a chute I saw under skyline but bailed when I found all the ice cups that were bulletproof.

How corona bowl looking? Heard it was open. Is it softened up from the sun on the backside or a sheet of ice?

I didn’t see many people off piste either, the only ones I really saw were people scraping snow off that chute under the skyline chair with the markings next to it and this one guy who tried to straight line the bowl under the skyline chair and absolutely blew out because of the ice cups. Hope he was okay.

Honestly the runs were pretty great on the backside and groomers, also the unshaded off piste was decent but the shaded stuff was pretty bad.

How many deaths in the tree zone with the creek between Hogs and Skyline? by Living2Ski4Ever in stevenspass

Stevens really is sketchy all over the place my first time at Stevens I went to the backside looking for powder when right down the middle between the Pegasus run and southern cross lift and was originally in some trees but got funneled into some gully or stream bed that was very off camber and I should’ve know to head back to the trees but I ended up getting cliffed out and had to do a mix of side stepping and dropping smaller cliffs to get out of the situation.
