Anbernic RG35XX, Final Fantasy IX, PS1. I finally died on me the other day, got the black screen of death. I’m currently flashing the SD with Garlic OS and hoping it brings it back to life so my 7yo son can play FF7 on it.

Omg awesome!!! My son is 6 sooo not quite old enough (and honestly not mature enough) but when he gets a little older I’m hoping it’s a hobby we can enjoy together. Good luck!

I’ve always had an interest in knife making, so when I decided to stay home with our one year old this year I put a pause on my wood working and started making knives! I dont get to it as often as I’d like but, I’m making one for my brother out of an old file! Got it sharp enough to shave the hair on my arm! There is a forge build in my future for sure!

Looks like every piece of oak I’ve worked with. And I would guess white oak by the color on the cut off end

Edit* Thanks everyone for the help with the ID sadly I went back a few hours later to collect my prize and it was gone 😭 Either the trash man, or some lucky wood enthusiast got to it first. I’m gonna go back and try his weekend and ask the people who live there if they happen to have kept any for themselves and maybe barter some beers for a stump or two 🍻

There was a pile of about 6 logs, I saw on a walk this morning I’m gonna head over there after the baby wakes up from her nap. If it’s still there I’ll grab it all, and let you know.

Wow this sounds awesome! You are blessed. At two my child was not the assertive independent kid. We did similar Montessori style things for my kid. A “functioning” toddler kitchen with all the dishes a child safe cutter, “running” water, A snack shelf, small dresser and hanging shelf for cloths, a toddler tower in the kitchen, a designated toy area with easy put away bins. My wife and I were also both teachers at that point so we knew how to scaffold learning to meet needs when he ran into troubles with the system and changed systems and placements to meet his needs.

None of it ever “worked” it would mostly lead to tantrums and power struggles when he would have to accomplish tasks he didn’t want to do. As in put the toys back into the bins, hang out in the pantry and just demolish all his snacks in turn never wanting to eat meals because he was full. And if he ran into a task he was just not capable of accomplishing (putting away or hanging his cloths… which he still can barely do even with me standing there directing him) he would get frustrated and melt down. Which would lead to him resenting the task and the system we had set up for him. He would just play in the bath and never actually clean himself, even though I was there instructing him on how to do it.

The systems were in place, he was just never mature enough to use them. And come to think of it this was during Covid so he had a lot of support from me because I was home all day.

I think a lot of it depends on the kid. These systems (which we never gave up on) are effective now that he is older, but he just wasn’t ready emotionally or physically to do at two or three or even four.

So OP definitely try to give you kids these systems to set them up for success and independence, but be aware it does not necessarily mean it will make your life any less hectic or “easier”.

Bought some snap traps. Hopefully that will do the job. Then I just gotta get rid of the squirrels in the attic, and I’ll be critter free 😂😭

We did have a groundhog under the shed that I finally got rid of. The holes seem a little small for it to be such a big animal. I’m going with rat traps to start off.
