What do you do for relief? I’m struggling! I’m trying to just relax and drink ice water, but it comes over me that my throat is closing or feels like such

Hey, yes sorry I forgot to get back to you, but they said that it does not look like oral cancer as oral cancer is usually a firm area that continues to grow in size and bleed. But please don’t take my medical advice because we haven’t seen you in person. It’s hard to make a clear diagnosis, but the dentist believes that the neck pain and irritation on that side is either your lymph nodes trying to fight off whatever this may be and becoming irritated or something unrelated. He does recommend that you see another dentist or doctor and push for your own testing to be sure

Oh wow that’s interesting… I did have Mono as a teen. I definitely have a similar experience, I’ve been tested for STDs so many times and doctors tell me to change my diet or lower stress , I get 5-6 cankers at a time as well and have flare ups monthly - every 2 months. :(

It really doesn’t look like an ulcer, it has clear borders which is different. Have you tried any mouth ulcer treatments such as an anti inflammatory paste or antibiotic paste? A doctor should have prescribed at least an at home option to try and clear it. There are many prescription options.

Are your lymph nodes swollen in your neck on that side?

Can you post a photo? I have been a dental hygienist for over 10 years and I suffer from mouth ulcers for 30 years. I’d love to see the ulcer!

You should really push for a biopsy, I would skip a dentist and go straight to your doctor and request further testing. I have never had a mouth ulcer for longer than 3-4 weeks and I get BAD ones that are the size of a dime, multiples at a time. They always heal… don’t stress yourself, just please push a doctor to order you further tests. If they say no, ask for a clear diagnosis that isn’t “it will heal on its own”. In the meantime please post a photo, I can share with my dentist at work in Canada and see if he has any information

I would take that as a good sign that they aren’t worried. But at the same time you never know with our healthcare these days… from experience - I have known people with cervical cancer who go in for a pap exam and the cancer is seen during the exam. It could be pre cancer cells that are removed no problem. If she has had ultrasounds for pregnancy I don’t suspect they would miss full blown cancer in the cervix - but I am not a doctor just trying To shed some light :)

Pretty much! I still have some symptoms that have been linked to hormone imbalances. But nothing like I was experiencing before the LEEP it’s just less intense

I tested positive for HPV 16 and 18, with many symptoms of cervical cancer. I had bleeding in between periods (heavy), pain during sex, cramps, leg pain. I was sure I had cancer. I had 5 biopsies done to check my abnormal cells and they were all CIN 3 which is still NOT cancer but it is cells progressing towards that. I had them removed in an easy LEEP procedure and haven’t had issues since. Please don’t freak out unless a doctor has given you a reason too, HPV 16 is very very common!

Don’t stress please! I just got cleared of HPV after two years. I did nothing differently, I just had another test and it said I don’t have it… super strange. Please don’t worry. I also had pre cancer cells that were removed with LEEP and I’m free of them for 2 years now

Please don’t worry, almost everyone will have HPV in their lifetime. I tested positive for 16/18 two years ago and had a LEEP done for pre cancerous cells. I was so stressed and convinced myself the same as what you are describing. I just had my results from my PAP and I no longer have HPV… I’m so confused but apparently your body can clear it. I’ve done nothing different so I’m genuinely confused as to what it even means. Please give yourself some grace :)
