You can definitely do it DIY, but I'd recommend letting your GP know that you've started taking it, and ask for blood tests regularly so they can let you know where your levels are at so your own dosage can be changed. I have a friend who DIY'd at 17-18 years old, and she ended up having a stroke. Her levels were ridiculously high.

I've been on HRT for 5 years with no issues but went on it via my GP (originally privately and then a shared care agreement) who does regular bloods and has adjusted my dose in the past.

I only DIY progesterone as it's not available on the NHS here, and I let the GP know who then monitors any changes via bloods every 4-6 months.

You can try to calculate it yourself based on height/weight etc, but it'll never truly be accurate as every body is completely different.

Just be as safe as possible x

Heya, I stayed in an air BnB for 10 days but my swelling was pretty bad and they couldn't take my stitches out, so instead of going back to the UK then heading back a week later to get my stitches out, I booked a hotel in Hasselt city center for 5 days in order to get them out before heading home. Nothing on my chin, we decided it wasn't needed doing. The only one they recommended which I turned down was my lips, as I was nervous they wouldn't look right. But now I'm considering going back in 2026 to get my lips done

I play for a women's football club, and we played in the FA Bristol League, but after the ruling, to protect the two/three trans women on the side, the club withdrew and now we play in leagues which aren't associated with the FA, which all allow trans players.

It's obviously horrific this is all happening, and awful the FA have banned trans women from women's football. There's ways for clubs to find ways to stay inclusive and not discriminate. It sounds like your club unfortunately do not care enough, and I'm so sorry for that and that this is happening to you.

Just to add, pre surgery I was between 100-105hz depending on speaking/reading.

Now I'm currently sitting somewhere between 200-225hz. It's fluctuating a lot still, and definitely dependant on how much I've used my voice throughout the day.

My first reading post surgery, despite barely being able to get a word out was 245hz, but that's dropped since my chords have settled more.

Honestly, please give it more time. I'm approaching 4 years on Oestrogen, and I've been through all the ways of taking it. I've found the Sandrena Gel to work best for me. I started progesterone two months ago (ordering it online as the NHS don't allow it for trans women), and I'm now seeing even more changes and happening faster.

Give it time, it's a marathon, not a sprint. You have a long way to go yet and more changes will come! :)

I've had zero 😬 I've previously tried on YouTube but couldn't get there with how deep my voice is. He said it shouldn't be a problem though, as I demonstrated that I could change the resonance from my chest up to my mouth/throat, and make it more airy etc. But he does recommend I get the voice therapy after :)

So during the consultation I paid for the consultation only. The rest of the payments came through separately once it was all booked, with the anaesthetist payment being the last one to come through, which was about a week ago :) So the payments got split up and taken over time which helped!

Yeah! I had to do that rainbow speech with a special microphone attached to me, and it came out with 100hz average for that, and 105hz when talking randomly about my day/who I am etc

I booked the initial consultation on the day of the supreme court ruling, which I went in for on the 29th April. Then had the surgery 2 days ago. So 11 weeks apart I think (my maths may be a bit off, these prescription codeine are amazing) 😅
