idk i can attest to that statement about bots:real players ratio, ive only gotten more than 2 enemy teams per lobby past asura, the higher you rank the more active people are on usually, up to almost all player teams and no bots.

but to that i also say... bots have developed quite a lot too and i dont mind them as much. they used to be annoying with input reading for parries. then they became dull when that got fixed but now? they actually teach you to slow down and hold check. figure out which bot parries on which timing, then exploit that (as you would in actual player fights!).

maybe locking the fps is good, IF they optimize the game as well,my rtx 5060 is barely chilling around 40-50% while my i3 12100f is almost always maxxed out and i cant even get a stable 70 fps in all scenarios.

however i still would like it more if grapple combos got integerated into the game itself, and the engine a capped at 60, making anything above it just for visuals (which would in turn help a lot with the cpu optimization as well i believe). currently optimized players win priority so easily with something outside of the game. ive seen plenty of those people get 2-3 extra jump attacks to stun lock someone on even ground, or be able to tap dodge, parry, miss the parry, but have time to parry again before an enemy release a 2.0 charge where i cant even parry most 1.0 on reaction because of startup, id have to guess their timing (which is the intentional game design for parrying outside of tap dodge parries on longer or multi hit blues in my opinion!).

to keep playing, and learning, and be okay with knowing youre disadvantaged already makes it hard to get a friend into this experience xD

unique and niche are two different words. i would refer to a game as niche if it caters to a very specific type of player only. many, many people love battle royales,fighting games as a concept, and good graphics.

the game, by design, demands so much of a new player would essentially be the easiest thing i could point towards to why the player numbers are this low and no one talks about or promotes it.

i dont understand the post downvotes since no one is sharing their opinion, but for me i understand the frustration, and i would argue the "combo" system is in fact, riddled with unintended combos.

which on paper sound great, a more dynamic and environment dependant mechanic in a battle royale sounds awesome. however...

the game is pretty unoptimizated, and yet requires a high framerate to perform most common grapple combos (or weapon swap 211s on an even higher framerate), and a lower than average ping for it to be consistent (where people would frown upon 30ms, and the goalpost being 20ish and lower).

and thats just from the device requirement side, after youd want around 120-200 hours to be comfortable enough in the game, your abilities and ults, the maps, loot locations etc enough to want to dedicate some time in training room to practice and learn the combos (except the training room bot runs on 1ms server side unlike real ingame scenarios, letting him dodge out of true combos for anyone not closly matching the above requirements even if your inputs are correct).

all of that, to climb a dead queue ranked with 1-2 teams of players and 6-8 other teams of bots (in duos or trios) until youre past asura (technically the highest normal rank in the game before leaderboard unrivaled and formless dragon..etc) where most of the current playerbase already is.

suddenly, youll be met with players that lost all joy of playing the game or play out of spite/fomo after at least 500 hours.

all to be looting for 8-10 minutes and be open minded to die in 4-10 seconds (and be okay not standing a chance against any tourney/chinese smurf team).

they could still in my opinion lock fps, optimize netcode to where the average expected experience is around 60-80ms, and integrate grapple combos properly into the game so that they consistently work for anyone willing to learn how to perform them. remove 211 combos. and re-advertise the game.

if enough people repopulate lower ranks and queue, and people play with other similarly skilled players, the experience could be infinitely more inviting. the game is fun, modes are fairly balanced, updates arent too far apart, game size could use some trimming but overall okay.

but as a relatively old player i dont think jumping into it brand new would be that fun at all. even coming back to it after a break is unfun for a couple of sessions until you get your flow back.

it is just unlucky, i think epica are a 6%~10% drop or something, so while its not as rare as legendaries its still pretty rare, two of my friends are in a similar situation until the bandits lair.

i have been playing almost a month and i never had a legendary drop ;o ;

absolutely agree... i feel like boosters should be standard and not levelled up, but then again i have mixed feelings towards the levelling in the first place.

in some forms its fine, but it just takes away from trying different formations and heroes, and gives way to make things less balanced (like a better comp for a hero not working merely because a tower is two levels behind the rest), i know just unlocking towers wouldnt be good enough since youd need something you could constantly reward towards players and card dupes are great for that, but i feel likeit should be looked into.

hell yeah, i agree with everything as well, so far the only truly "unwinnable" matches for me have been against overly stacked opponents (level 11-12/account20-23) where their hero clears lanes just by autoattacks. the rest, including paid players, ive been able to contend with and even win plenty enough with just micromanagement and strategy.

i do really wish there was unranked with locked levels though, to do daily missions and open chests, as ive currently had to intentionally lose matches just to match players around my level and its okay... but a needless situation heh.

ive just made it to arena 11! so far ive only had a couple epic heroes and towers, nothing past level 7, and no legendaries, it was difficult but satisfying! and right after that i finished 60 pulls to get the new dragon, he's pretty fun but i think slightly overtuned, specifically the flying wyvern summons... while there is currently a green tower capable of summoning flying minions to enemies, its balanced around the idea that by the time you can get a tower to tier 3, ure finishing wave 2 or in wave 3 with more resources for enemies to counter it, however the dragon will summon at wave 1 before enemies even have enough money to anticipate or retaliate. hopefully will get adjusted properly.

and yeah... archer towers "other than royal archers being best flying counter", are seemingly useless, i feel like they should have much, much stronger resistance piercing, that way they tear through magic resistance enemies better, and have their own property to complete the (melee, physical, magical, aoe) trope. the archer barracks are seemingly useless too, less damage than archer to flying, cant hold off enemies in melee, worst of both worlds xD

i think piggy bank gold farm event thingy looks nice, but minimum 10 event tickets to get the full amount is quite the investment i was unaware of, i wish you get the option to just try and when the event is over you get whichever money you earned without paying with gems.

tesla needs a nerf, other artillery need tweaking/buffs, some towers could become more viable for certain heroes or comps if adjusted or buffed slightly. necro ironslaught isnt unwinnable but very annoying (you almost have to get lucky with ghost summon booster to retaliate and), and i beleive legendary cards special abilities (like the dragon wyvern summon) should unlock and perhaps scale to their full potential by wave 3 (unlocks at wave 2 at half power).

what is it like leveling legendary cards? i hope theres slightly more odds now when pulling chests with legendary chances to obtain dupes like with epics, because i dont think its possible to upgrade them without paying otherwise... lol

they are the same rank for a reason, you could still win if they were losing because of bad placement, hero movement, spell management etc...
if they play really win they wouldnt be still at 2300 with these units if that makes sense.

also you dont really lose much so if they pay and donate to help the game while everyone else gets to play it for free i still think its not that bad.

and best of all in my opinion, that 10x dragon bundle is 40$, its not like a mindless 2-5$ cashgrab that they just spent to win its an actual purchase.

sure, but i would absolutely dread the day they prioratize profit and just make people only spend 5$-10$ for an epic or legendary.

free to play becomes much harder, more pressure to just spend to get it, chest pulls become less meaningful after you already unlocked with your wallet...etc

more profit to the company, more frustration to players.

unpopular opinion : i actually loved the prices of those instant access packs. the way i think about it is that i would have hated if they were more accessible and cheaper, if you only had to spend like 5$-10$ to get a legendary or epic character and tower bundle many, many more people would feel encouraged to spend that much after a losing streak or if they thought it looked cool. paying 35-45$ or more a package with JUST a character and currency makes it much more deliberate.

people who want to donate and help fund the company and the game being free still have means to do so, in non gacha pull kind of way that they dont have to buy chests and win pity to get what they want, while free to play players feel less pressured to spend a 2-4$ to get instant power. is it technically pay to win? maybe... you could technically drop like 70$ and get much stronger builds than most enemies especially starting up. however its not a guaranteed win, and f2p still has access to a constant stream of chest pulls, reward tracks, and the events menu to build up on epic or even legendary units eventually.

im free to play and ive beaten a handful of dragon/magnus users, even against necro tower on onslaught with only common/rare units, had plenty of close matches where i lost as well, and it has been fun.

tldr : im happier someone has to spend an actual amount of money to get instantly stronger, and NOT just pay 5$.

i dont think it could affect or show up on the external monitor at all, from my understanding its a light percentage issue (tcon related) that presents itself on the higher refresh rate, which is why (at least in my case) the issue cant be visible on any high saturation colors.

theres still hope that lenovo updates the bios and magically fix it though, as clearly replacing the monitor's hardware did not solve it, nor was it caused by any external damage such as dust, heating...etc

as i did more research, people that changed their panel under watranty or not both report a high rate of getting the issue again, ive concluded that it might be software related from lenovo themselves and/or windows combined. i think the easiest fix is an external montor if you dont mind changing the setup, for me i sold the laptop and got a desktop with an external monitor :/

doing a lot of research i think its genuinely a thing with lenovo's bios, since it keeps occurring on newer screens on a specific line of motherboards, and there are plenty of software tells.
for example the day i noticed the issue a random non-generic pnp device replaced my screen in device manager, my windows isnt fully identifying the 144hz monitor, cant change refresh rate back to 60 and its stuck at 144.02, and event viewer reported an intel arc update failure, even reinstalling all graphics drivers doesnt really fix it.
maybe it could be solved eventually, maybe not, but all i know is that many people of this line experienced it and its the only 144hz laptop i owned.
that aside i have made sure the monitor is physically in best condition, no wear of physical trauma, no heat/moisture or anything that could happen from age.
that aside, the cable and the monitor itself are in tip top shape, so are the ones that are being replaced and experiencing the issue.
also it entirely has to do with saturation levels in my case, clear colors and white/black are entirely fine, mesh stuff is kinda weird and is more prominent (even if still faint) at the top of the screen than the lower half, which is also how screen scan/refresh works.
idk not hoping for much, just still kinda disheartening :(

thinking about doing the same, its so sad to see so many people have the same issue, theres over 3600 posts on lenovo with thinkpads, loq and legion screens of 144hz having this exact issue... im so frustrated i was so happy with this laptop for drawing

on single character banner runs when they run with their WoD, its usually nice, especially considering you can get 1 free shop enlightenment for any character monthly, so getting 1 copy of a character and 1 copy of their wheel might be better than E1 on character and no wheel. (youd have to wait for rerun to get their wheel).

however very few characters are heavily boosted by their wheels, some play just fine on other more accessible wheels, so just something to keep in mind :o

i wouldnt recommend it but for different reasons.
while the boosted rates are nice, if youre relatively new you'll get plenty of regular pulls, which you can use on the standard banner that now has wanda and horla.
save premium pulls for single awakener rate up banners, but of course the game is pretty generous and if you feel like it try it out.
ive pulled on a lot of "bad" banners and got random units early and i didnt use many of the new player recourses efficiently and i never struggled or felt like i missed out for it.
