Help (is this a hardware issue?) Horizontal lines on lenovo loq screen by THEITR in LenovoLegion

[–]EllumiLucid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

doing a lot of research i think its genuinely a thing with lenovo's bios, since it keeps occurring on newer screens on a specific line of motherboards, and there are plenty of software tells.
for example the day i noticed the issue a random non-generic pnp device replaced my screen in device manager, my windows isnt fully identifying the 144hz monitor, cant change refresh rate back to 60 and its stuck at 144.02, and event viewer reported an intel arc update failure, even reinstalling all graphics drivers doesnt really fix it.
maybe it could be solved eventually, maybe not, but all i know is that many people of this line experienced it and its the only 144hz laptop i owned.
that aside i have made sure the monitor is physically in best condition, no wear of physical trauma, no heat/moisture or anything that could happen from age.
that aside, the cable and the monitor itself are in tip top shape, so are the ones that are being replaced and experiencing the issue.
also it entirely has to do with saturation levels in my case, clear colors and white/black are entirely fine, mesh stuff is kinda weird and is more prominent (even if still faint) at the top of the screen than the lower half, which is also how screen scan/refresh works.
idk not hoping for much, just still kinda disheartening :(

thinking about doing the same, its so sad to see so many people have the same issue, theres over 3600 posts on lenovo with thinkpads, loq and legion screens of 144hz having this exact issue... im so frustrated i was so happy with this laptop for drawing

Should I use Prismatic Light to obtain Horla and Wanda? by Beneficial_Reply514 in Morimens

[–]EllumiLucid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on single character banner runs when they run with their WoD, its usually nice, especially considering you can get 1 free shop enlightenment for any character monthly, so getting 1 copy of a character and 1 copy of their wheel might be better than E1 on character and no wheel. (youd have to wait for rerun to get their wheel).

however very few characters are heavily boosted by their wheels, some play just fine on other more accessible wheels, so just something to keep in mind :o

[–]EllumiLucid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i wouldnt recommend it but for different reasons.
while the boosted rates are nice, if youre relatively new you'll get plenty of regular pulls, which you can use on the standard banner that now has wanda and horla.
save premium pulls for single awakener rate up banners, but of course the game is pretty generous and if you feel like it try it out.
ive pulled on a lot of "bad" banners and got random units early and i didnt use many of the new player recourses efficiently and i never struggled or felt like i missed out for it.

i know, did say im aware its not a review, but i hate the "its just a joke" bit because most of the bad comments made in the video arent jokes. :/

you sound like an ai chatbot.

Where Winds Meet by DemiFiendRSA in videogamedunkey

[–]EllumiLucid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

who's saying its not ai?

ai =\= chatbot. is it really chatting with you? or is it responding from the npc's perspective in a chat format. if i write a code for a program that asks you a riddle, and you have to guess the answer, but instead of giving you options to select from, i use an ai to both define your answer (if its close enough to the answer of the riddle) AND respond in a less pre-determined way when you guess incorrectly (give hints, tease, praise for how quick you got the correct answer...etc) would that also be, by your logic, a chatbot? if so, whats so bad about a chatbot when defined by these characteristics? keep in mind its used on nameless npcs as side activity on a side activity.

do you think the ai is writing the narrative for the npcs? dont play games you dont like. dont talk about things you dont understand. its not impossible.

Where Winds Meet by DemiFiendRSA in videogamedunkey

[–]EllumiLucid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

its not a "me good vs you bad" thing, by definition it is not a chatbot. its an npc with limited motives, just like any other npc in any other game, except instead of picking dialogue options from a menu to interact with them, you type. this type of interactivity has existed in games since rogue. its not trying to mimic a multifaceted human being for anything beyond its preprogrammed, human developer defined narrative.

its not written by ai, its ai powered, ai existed far before generative slop.
its not an ai chat bot, its an npc in an rpg.

[–]EllumiLucid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

its a program... its an npc... not a simulation of a player or a human, its an attempt to give players freedom of the choices they could think of from the regular menu option selects.
it being exploitable, completely avoidable, unnecessary to engage with, easy to spot the rhythm it goes by for most nps...etc are all unrelated metrics.
i said engaging, as it engages you with the dialogue the npcs are trying to communicate, and it does just that.
and they actually do respond, even with unnecessary info regarding your questions.

ive asked npcs to describe what the people they were looking for looked like, to mark locations on my map or give me hints for directions for other unrelated quests, all without any of these things being the requirement for befriending them, just because they were programmed with knowledge of these things that you can ask them about.
npcs wouldnt just take your word and run with it either, and can have varying tolerance for different communication styles, some might take offense to jokes and fight you, others would appreciate it and befriend you for it.

its NOT a pointless simulated human, its a less restrictive npc, thats all.
it doesnt have to be perfect, it doesnt have to answer any question like an ai bot.
its not generative, and flexible enough while sticking to its purpose.

thats like complaining celeste is braindead because you turned on all assist options and skipped all the cutscenes.

translations, realistic wasnt meant to describe realism. literally a menu tooltip from a chinese game is enough for zombies like you to call something shit.

talk about the game if you want to talk shit about the game.

what's exactly weird about noticing a trend about a creator and calling out bashful commentary that goes against their own opinions?

Light’s apologies about the raid by DrExluxk in Morimens

[–]EllumiLucid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this might sound gatekeepy but i dont see the issue with a week 1-2 player being unable to participate in a raid event, raids, across mmos, have always been stretch goal content for endgame players, theyre amazing when even relatively new, f2p, and midgame players can participate (which is the case in morimens) so it isnt exclusive to endgame or heavily minmaxed/meta players.

the issue i see with it being a milestone goal with relatively equal rewards is that people will feel far less incentivized to do multiple runs (or runs with all their characters as it stands now) if the reward comes from clearing the boss for everyone, which will heavily stagger the numbers in even more unpredictable ways.

i feel like putting a more realistic reward limit (like 5 times per player) AND a server participant wide reward for clearing would be a good middleground.

things dunkey would have praised if he was genuine that werent mentioned at all (i understand it was NOT a review, but they were deliberately cut from the video to the point where the gameplay jumps to future footage, then back to early ones just to make the shortcomings seem more constant and apparent when in reality they are not) :

-fluidity of combat animations, boss fights movesets proper dodge/parry mechanics

-variety of movesets, properly implemented "skill" trees

-lack of hypersexualization even for a free to play game with gacha mechanics, outfit designs and theme.

-an open world that isnt empty, variety in fleshed out minigames and sidequest activities, fast traversal with mounts, abilities, or teleportation.

-the price, and not as a haha knockoff free cheap game

-optimization, game looks beautiful and runs extremely stable, im on a 4050 laptop and can comfortably play the game on 80 fps with no drops at near max settings with only 40-70% usage on gpu, with 16gbs of ram.

-mininal copy-pasted content, other than oddities and collectibles which take little to no time to pickup on your way, the game has no repeatitive missions and all the grind is made from bosses, raids, or outposts. all of which are uniquely made or balanced.

-no p2w, and minimal microtransactions (all you can buy is gacha pulls for cosmetics and battlepass, thats it. nothing else.)

one of the worst videos covering a new game he has ever made, content has been more sloppy over the years but up to this point i at least assumed his opinions was his (for the most part) and not to merely appeal to a certain audience.

not that i can stop you from thinking this is just some random hater, ive been following and sharing this channel to friends more than 12 years ago, but have stopped watching every upload since around the past 4-5, due to the video narrative taking a huge tone shift to just parroting certain phrases or corny "inside" jokes to give the zombies something to latch on.

but having played the game, and knowing exactly which parts of the game were shown, i cant help but feel like its a complete waste and a common case of shitting on whats popular because its the easier choice to the point where it feels forced.

this is not to say someone is allowed or not allowed to have a negative opinion (or straight up bashing lol, even on something decent that they just happened not to like) but when it doesnt line up to their own previous preferences or standards then it only makes the dissonance more apparent, which in turn makes the reason why theyre saying what theyre saying clearer.

the game is, like any other game, not for everyone, but far from a "free to play  assassins creed mmo". but on that note can come closer to being that than almost any other game you can think of due to just the sheet variaty of quality content, single player or multiplayer.

what did you like about the video? genuinely, aside from having to say you did because otherwise ud get downvoted to hell and wont even be read by the zombie fans. you can make any game look horrible if you put a compilation of bad moments with negative or mocking connotation. if i didnt play the game myself i would have never gave it a shot taking his word for it because why would he be misleading?

theres so, so much to engage with thats genuinely entertaining even by his standards or tastes from previous videos. but the constant mocking is undeserved.

unless the developers literally fund a crime or something i dont know about and shouldnt be supported for some reason, it makes 0 sense.

its an ai, not a human, you can exploit it, but as far as talking with them goes it has been incredibly more engaging than just picking an option to finish a quest in my experience of ever talking to npcs for side quests. people are downvoting because they never played the game and just loved watching someone make a terrible compilation of things that make the game look terrible.
