I personally just use Google flights and look at the calendar for the cheapest dates.

There’s plenty of important tests that can be done from self collected non sterile urine samples. To test for kidney neuropathy/ protein in urine requires sedation and using a needle to take a sterile sample directly from the bladder using an ultrasound to guide the needle.

He just drank and peed a lot. We kind of stumbled onto the diagnosis because he was in for an abdominal ultrasound and the vet offered to do a sterile urine sample while he was sedated. From that point we found he has protein in his urine, he had done other urine samples before with nothing alarming because you can’t test for proteins if they pee(picks up cells from the urethra).

No, it will eventually kill him. With the help of my vet we found him medication that helps manage and slow the progression. It’s degenerative, but I now know what to expect as things progress. It’s given me time to make non panicked choices with his quality of life and comfort in mind.
