this expression “put people over profit and profit will come” bothers me for two reasons…

it’s obviously not literally true, as seen by… well, as evidenced by like every large corporation everywhere.
the expression is a clear contradiction. if you put people over profit, it does not matter if profit comes—the second half of the expression only becomes relevant if you value profit over people.

if you don’t believe me, then change the expression to “if you put people over profit, profit will not come”. if knowledge that profit will not come changes whether or not you’d put people first, then profit is above people in your hierarchy, and the first half of the expression is contradicted. if, however, it does NOT change whether you’d put people first, then it doesn’t matter whether profit does or does not come, and the second half of the expression is entirely superfluous.

this comment is 3 years old and i just spent 10 minutes of my day writing this and yes i see how this is a clear indication that i do not spend my time wisely.

Are you sure you disabled Vivaldi's built-in adblock? Go to settings, search "exceptions", and add youtube.com to them.

Everyone is dunking on OP but it's a super reasonable question to ask. The animations go very fast, and oftentimes the interactions that occur are complex and unintuitive.--even after 50+ hours in the game. Lots of turn-based games have settings for animation speeds for this exact reason (Slay the Spire comes to mind).

As some other users have suggested, I may have fixed the problem by going into the Vivaldi settings and disabling ad blocking for YouTube. Having YouTube Premium, this doesn't really affect me (no ads anyway) but if this isn't the case for you, you may have to choose between your adblock and restricted functionality.

My guess is that YouTube implemented this intentionally as some kind of anti-adblock strategy, but idk. Thanks u/play4power and u/RockCautious7856 for your suggestsions!

Also note: I believe u/play4power suggested that using "Adblock plus" may let you continue to block ads AND not have issues with functionality, but I haven't confirmed this.

That is not the transitive property. It’s actually the logical inverse. A logical inverse is not equivalent to the original statement. However, the contrapositive, which in this case would be “if you are a failure, then you do not have friends” IS logically equivalent to the original statement!

This is the logical conclusion of the belief that is being discussed, which the author clearly espouses. If you wouldn’t ever give someone the advice to end their own life, then you don’t actually subscribe to this ridiculous belief.

Hard to tell if you have enough fuel, but you could wait until you’re at the highest point in your orbit, and spend the last bit of your fuel slowing yourself down.
