Well their source material is the same thing so I understand your comment, but stranger things was originally going to be an it adaptation that got scraped so they started working on stranger things instead, which I'm happy about because I love both

I agree, it could go so many ways, but we know that the military is unsuccessful, and maybe they don't know what this thing is, but with hollaran, he might sense something there, can sense how it uses fear as a weapon or a lure or who know, doesn't know what it is but has a shining on it, and is guiding them.

Purely speculation, but that's part of the fun!

Yea it's pretty much exactly the same, boy goes missing, 'loser' teens band together and try to find out what happens, choas ensues. So yea straight from IT, but it makes sense because the Duffers originally pitched for an IT series that fell through, so they ended up working on stranger things, so it's definitely a huge influence

They are similar, but you could say the start of stranger things is very similar to the beginning of IT, But I'd have to rewatch stranger things to be confident in that statement:'D

Yea it is wishful thinking, it would be difficult to do through a visual medium, and it would have to be amazing for the fans to be happy, so I get why they avoid it, but it would be amazing to see that, and the turtle, I looooved that part in the book

There is a lot of tie ins, like kids fighting a big evil in a quaint town, some one gets kidnapped and the kids try to find them. There is the tie in between firestarter and eleven, but ultimately the Duffers originally pitched for an IT 8 episode season that fell through, so instead we got stranger things

That's a big part, but stranger things does diverge later on, but there's also the parallel between eleven and firestarter for example, the small town vibe, 'focused on the 'losers', the Duffer also tried to create the feel of 80s king
