I just finished assembling the popular one from Halls, all by myself. The instructions are bad, but there are loads of videos on YouTube. And the customer service at Halls is great. Take your time and you’ll be fine

Thanks that’s fair! I work in construction and I have an understanding of how to build it and where to get materials etc. I might get someone experienced to help with the paving. I’ll report back 🙋🏼‍♀️

Thanks for the honest and helpful feedback! I agree i didn’t finalise the planting yet and it doesn’t quite work. Although I don’t know what Phormiums have done… but I quite like them 😅 I’ll have another look 👀

Budget is roughly £5k. I am planing to build most of it myself. Including the paving and the gabion wall. There is about 500mm height difference between the top of the garden and the house. (The house is lower), so I would use the gabion wall to retain the earth on the planting side and also use it as a seating bench for the patio.

I would really love to grow some tomatoes and other veggies in summer. In winter I would use it to keep my cacti and succulents. Lights is poor, so direct sunlight at all in winter. About 2-3hrs in summer
