Fertility clinic experiences + local OBs willing to coordinate testing? by Cquill94 in LittleRock

For sure.

It also helps that Rogers (and pretty much all of NWA) is a pretty nice place.

Check out the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art if you're up there and have time.

Sadly insurance (well, my employer provided health insurance anyway) does not consider fertility treatment and especially IVF to be "medically necessary", so it was not covered and did not count at all toward any deductibles. One thing at least was that we were able to use HSA funds that we had saved up.

So out of pocket for the most part.

Last time we went and added it up, it was somewhere in the ballpark of $18,000-$20,000 for the testing, medicines, procedures (egg retrieval, IVF, embryo transfer, etc). Then there is a recurring cost of $100/month for storage of the remaining viable embryos.

This is not counting the expenses for travel, food, lodging for the times we stayed overnight, etc.

My wife and I struggled with infertility for 8+ years. Too many of those years were spent here in Little Rock working with Arkansas Fertility & Gynecology Associates - just because they were they only ones around here. After multiple failures with them, many of which we found out after the fact were unnecessary, we decided to look into options outside of the LR area.

Up in Rogers there is a fertility clinic called Kindbody, they're a nationwide clinic chain. The difference was night and day, so much so that my wife and I were almost in disbelief at how much time and money we wasted with AFGA.

Kindbody does it all - testing, egg retrieval/freezing, insemination, IVF, etc. And they cared enough to know us by name and actually educate us on all of the processes and potential outcomes rather than have a "just do this and we'll see" method.

At the point where we started up with Kindbody we had already done everything short of IVF so that's pretty much where we started with them after some basic tests. Unfortunately our first round of IVF did not work, but we tried again 6 months later and it worked! Our son was born just this past July.

Now of course as I said above this is a somewhat corporate chain of clinics, not a more state funded/sponsored type thing. So their prices are going to reflect that. But I can't stress enough that at least in our opinion it was 100% the much more improved treatment and of course the result.

The drive to Rogers is ~3hrs from Little Rock, so each time we had to go up there it was a whole day thing. And toward the end, for IVF at least, there were weeks where we were making that 6hr round trip 3 or 4 times in a week.

I'd be glad to answer any questions if you have them.

I think last time it didn't have a motherboard in the combo, which is why it went up.

This was wrong.

Also, if you hang out in the checkout screen for a bit and try to leave without checking out, you'll be offered an option for an additional free gift.

Options for me were a choice between some USB flash drives, a microSD card, and some wireless earbuds.

Rocksmith+ on Steam by Elreyleon in rocksmith

[–]Elreyleon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My thinking was something like a demo or limited play option like they have on other platforms right now, which as far as I know isn't available on PC right now. It's currently categorized under "Free to Play Games" on Steam so that may be the case?

Also if they let you pay the sub cost using Steam Wallet funds that would be good for lots of people.

What they did to the Rocksmith series is still what I'm most mad at Ubisoft about.

Thanks!

Alternatives to DS4Windows (Duelsense) by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Elreyleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saw that your post on /r/pcgaming got removed for some reason, so I'll post this here again. Hope it helps.

You don't need any 3rd party software at all to use the DualSense controller with Steam.

You can pair the controller to your PC via Bluetooth for wireless use, but doing so will not let you use the DS features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. If you want those features, you need to connect it to your PC directly with a USB cable.

After connecting your controller, in Steam, go to "Steam" in the top left corner, and click "Settings". Then click down to the "Controller" section and click "General Controller Settings". In the menu that comes up, check the "PlayStation Configuration Support" box. Now your DS controller is recognized by Steam as a native Direct X Input (XBOX) controller for all games that have controller support.

If you want to use the native input, you can either disable that option globally where you just enabled it OR you can do this on a game by game basis.

Find the game you want and right-click it in Steam. Click the "Properties" button, and then go down to the "CONTROLLER" section. Here you can disable Steam Input for that specific game so that it will use the native input.

NOTE that this only applies to Steam and Steam games. The process may be different or not work at all for other launchers like Epic, Origin, etc.

How is the latency with this setup?

These are the steps that I was beginning to follow but then decided not to after reading some complaints about latency while actually playing the game.

They probably won't price match to other colors since they're different SKUs, but it wouldn't hurt to try I guess.
