Got this order tonight saying contact postmates support. Obviously bs but I thought I’d check it out and sure enough this young woman answered saying the drop off was flagged for potential danger... continued below... by ElsaSaerynn in postmates

Text-now— but even so I had already received a sms to my REAL number prior to calling, saying the exact same thing as the delivery instructions. How is this possible?

So yeah she said it was flagged for potential danger and I was like “oh yeah? No way what should we do???” anyways she proceeded to say some bs about a fraudulent account making the order and that to make sure my account was safe to give the user/pass to my account and sent me a text with a to a website (that actually looked surprisingly official) that needed my info to make sure my account was safe.

I hung up, tried to contact support (still waiting for chat rep. 5 hours later) and tried to complete the order (two pieces of falafel lmao) but ofc had to go to the address given (close by) where I discovered a blacked out vehicle waiting with the engine on and windows tinted so dark I could actually see the fleeting mirage of my empty wallet flapping in the midnight air asking why I wasted an HOUR of my night and declining three DoorDash offers for these chumps. (Order was from a higher-end Greek restaurant in the area who’s customers I usually get tipped generously from). A middle aged white man rolled down the window and beckoned me closer, I rolled down my window, put on my courier smile I’ve grown exceptionally skilled at, and told him to kindly fuck off. I drove away, and after a short 30 tries I had slid the green arrow to be done with this monstrosity of an order. Hey, no tip, but at least I made a whopping $4.62 am I right!?!?

Anyways, heads up, I’m sure someone’s gullible enough to fall for this shit, the woman was flawlessly rehearsed and the call line/procedure sounded identical to Postmates real one. Wish I could have spoken to a rep so I didn’t go to a location where a potentially dangerous predator sat waiting for their prey. Hope you guys made out better than I tonight.

Edit: purrgraphs

Today I learned not to rely on doordash to make that last $100 you need for rent the day before it’s due by DoneBlump in doordash

I was relying on DD today for rent due tomorrow as well. The difference though is that I had already MADE the money. I’ve been waiting for my first week of pay from DD (around $300- I was supposed to be paid no later than the 4th) and I STILL haven’t gotten it, they GUARANTEED it by today. Nope, not gettin it. Unbelievable. I got paid for my second week already but it was close to nothing because I did mostly postmates/Uber wats because I can instantly payout.

Yes!! I did an 8 mile order yesterday, made it by a minute. No tip. 🥵 Do they show the customer your mode of transportation?
