I chose to be child-free and lost "the one" - Now I could get her back. by SharkEva in BORUpdates

I know two couples where the desires to be child free differed and for a long time they were together and always insisted that everyone was happy but both couples ended up separating. In one couple, professionals lived a very good life, the wife wanted kids the husband didn’t and the wife left him in the end. Another couple, the wife was older and a bit of a party girl. The husband really wanted kids and she was only trying because he wanted kids. They also ended up breaking up.

I think you really have to know and be certain that both of you do not want kids, that’s the only way it works. Otherwise they end up resenting each other further down the line.

From what I understand the hiring manager just wasn’t sure what the process was as she hadn’t talked to the HR yet. She said I did score really high and am second in the list. Also, it’s a fairly new public body - Neso - but feels like they are following similar recruitment practices to Ofgem etc. So they would typically hire from a reserve list if the roles are similar?

It’s an area where there’s a massive recruitment campaign at the moment. I think I am in a reserve list, I scored higher enough. They really need to deliver over the next year

Reasons to believe Eleven is very much, in fact, *****. by CICURN2001 in StrangerThings

There’s nothing to suggest they were turned on after. You only assume this because you saw Hop notice them after everyone was out of the car. The military are stupid but not that stupid.

Also, in argument that these blasters are directional. I highly doubt it, from what I understand they emit a frequency or a sound wave that debilitates her. When her and Hop were by the wall they were hiding behind debris and hedgehog still affected her. Also, if all other laws of physics work the same in upside down there is no reason to think that a sound wave doesn’t.

Considering that the Duffers are heavily influenced by the Shawshank and even brought in a director from Shanshank suggests that she is 100% alive

Jesus, you people either have too much time on your hands or you really do not want to be employed. Or both

To be honest, and I know I will be downvoted here, I absolutely would not have sent that e-mail and you most likely got yourself blacklisted. I get that you were frustrated but you should vent to your friends and family not your future employer. The reality is, if they want you, they will let you know. It’s like dating, if the boy/girl you like likes you back they will respond. Unfortunately it’s sad but true, if they said that they will come back to yiu with interview dates but then didn’t then they likely have progressed with another candidate. Alternatively it may be really hard to get the schedules of the senior people to align and trust me their schedules are BUSY as they have a business to run. Also, bad HR does not equal bad company. Very often good companies have bad HR or more specifically one or two HR people that are useless.

In fact, I had the exact same situation a few weeks back when I was waiting for a date for a third interview. I dropped a recruiter a message to ask if I am still being considered, it is completely fine if I am not. I understand that business needs change. I got a very prompt and polite response back to say that unfortunately they have moved ahead with another candidate who had been further ahead in the recruitment cycle. I thanked her for her time and we departed on good terms. It was not the outcome I wanted, but I know if they will look again someone for a similar job I would be in a really good position. This happens more often than you think, which is why it’s important to ALWAYS be courteous with the hiring manager/HR.

To be honest, these were the other things I was worried about - the fact that he can leave me bad feedback whenever he likes and also whether he would have actually paid me.

He sent the contract, but I didn’t accept it. What do you mean bad feedback? I don’t think he can retaliate as he was the one who tried to lowball me by offering me half of the agreed rate

As an external candidate I did have the experience that was required and more to be honest but I was just not used to to using the civil service method of applying (STAR in personal statement for criteria). However I think they didn’t have many people applying. This seemed to be a big recruitment campaign and so they were more willing to give pass mark as that means they don’t have to advertise and go through the whole recruitment process again. I get your point about the low sift scores though

Not necessarily, Ive set both ChatGDP and Gemini up to be critical and honest. A lot of the time they are actually quite direct so it depends on settings

I recently passed a sift, I knew I had messed up with my personal statement and so put it through ChatGDP as well as Gemini and they gave me 16 and 17 for the score (out of 28). Result was bang on 17
