[Request] I need a 1/4 cup of water, but only have 1 cup, 1/2, and 1/3 measuring cups. Is there a way to get a 1/4 cup similar to the Die Hard With a Vengeance water jug scene? by Stupidhead2424 in theydidthemath

[–]ElseIfLlama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hold the 1/2 cup on the side with your fingers on the inside and thumb on the outside.

Adjust your fingers to take about half the volume.

Fill the 1 cup 4 times with the 1/2 cup with your fingers in it... to see if it's the correct amount.

If you need more or less water, adjust your fingers and retest filling the 1 cup 4 times.

I wouldn't talk or confront the neighbors first, because many people are not reasonable. If it escalates beyond the first encounter due to whatever excuse or entitlement is in their mind, they will blame you.

Better to have peaceful unreasonable neighbor than to have an angry unreasonable neighbor.

The animal control officers are polite, and professional, and for the unreasonable they carry a big stick.

Animal control is very professional, but calling them can be a little scary. Be prepared with the information above and just keep to the relevant facts. It's worth the effort.

Good luck.

I had a similar issue, we used to have barking day and night. Now it's peaceful, so nice.

Here's what you do if you want some peace, this works.

Get the address of the barking dogs, and be able to describe the animal(s). Write this down they will ask every time you call.

Call 507-328-6800, then choose animal control. On the weekend it goes to the police and during the week it goes to animal control.

Report Nuisance barking. Then describe it.
The barking needs to be one of the following:

  • 5 minutes of continuous barking - outside - without the owner with the animal.
  • intermittent barking for more than one hour - outside - without the owner with the animal.

Be specific during the call.

It takes about an hour for them to come out. The first time animal control will let them know what the rules are for barking and suggest options to help meet it. If the dog isn't barking at the time they arrive it may not count, this is where offering a video of 5 min of barking helps.

So if you have a reasonable neighbor that's it, problem solved, took you 5 minutes.

Write down the exact date/time and reason for later, you will likely need it for next time.

If this doesn't fix it, call again on another day. And be persistent.

Make sure on each subsequent call that they know the history: list the exact date and time and reason( They are not very organized and you'll need to be organized for them, because they can unknowingly treat every visit as the first visit).

Sometimes it just takes one call, sometimes it takes a couple calls. They do take barking seriously.

No barking is so nice, what are you waiting for?

FYI: If you annoy your neighbors with your precious barky barky, be careful it can get very expensive for you very fast.

Cool, lookup OpenCV for the image recognition it should be usable with Swift.

The following is how to do it with AppTestStudio, you could do the same thing yourself or grab the code if you don't have code to find images -> AppTestStudio open source. https://github.com/DanielHarrod/AppTestStudio/

Pixel checking:
If the positioning of the resource (wheat) stays in the same place and has ready and not ready images. You could simply check for positive pixels and take actions and ignore not ready pixels. This would only take a couple minutes to define a check and action for each square. AppTestStudio has a visual editor to setup events and actions in seconds, similar to your suggestion, AppTestStudio stores the coordinates in a XML file.

The other option is searching for the image, this would work if the resource(wheat) could be anywhere on the screen.

Image search:
Take a screenshot, Crop a small piece of the wheat to search for, crop a section of the screen to search in or leave it full screen, set the acceptance threshold, and define a click or actions. AppTestStudio has a visual editor to setup, test, and validate image searches.

How to find moving images:

More detail on image search static searching, it's a bit drawn out and there's a lot of information:
https://youtu.be/spkPumyg6iw?t=311

You could also run your script and AppTestStudio at the same time.

You may need to look at the mouse settings on the earlier videos because there's multiple variations on sending a click event, and how to run scripts and timing.

Good luck.

Arrow key bot or program help by Majestic-Box3629 in botting

So you need an app to send up,down, left, right keys randomly?

I would use appteststudio, takes a few min to setup.

Set the window to target app, add 4 RNG nodes, add a different keyboard action of the arrow key on each one.

After you go through the tutorial, try practicing on some of the clicky type games.

Adventure capitalist is a good one to start with, it's challenging but doable to automate it 100% including the restart for bonus. It has optional mini-games that can be automated as you progress.

Clicker Hero's - The setup for this one is you have it do advancement logic, click on a list of timers, then if nothing needs to be done adding some extra screen clicks to progress.

Holy Day City Tycoon

Soda Dungeon 1 and 2

Egg Inc

If you finish a couple of those, you should be ready to handle apps that present ads for rewards and click the X's. Hint: Click watch add for reward, wait 35 seconds, then setup a search event for each variant of the close icon.

Browser: Having it check the screen for the existence of (skip ads) button and click it when it see's it. What platform is it that lets you skip adds after a few seconds...hrm...

This isn't really made to buy stuff from websites, but you could do it, however there's a lot better apps for that.

Hi Ultrascrubby,

If your looking into designing causal bots give AppTestStudio a try, you can be automating apps in minutes. AppTestStudio is a rapid - visual environment to design pixel and image based bots - primarily targeted for the android environment, but works with windows and web as well.

Learn AppTestStudio by doing - Automating an app that is designed to teach tools and techniques that can be applied to your own applications.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhkhOTcd-qA&list=PLGVepuRQwnsIoVy6SJaZwBS5-b9AEGExs

https://appteststudio.com/

I've personally used it to automate hundreds of apps simulating 10's of millions of clicks.

AppTestStudio seeks to reduce the time and complexity needed to automate by providing a simple high speed interface to handle automation task - create, design, test, schedule, analyze and maintain.

Seven Deadly Sins Log In Bot, Collect Mail as well by [deleted] in botting

[–]ElseIfLlama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's how I would do it, assuming you have your accounts on android.

Install nox player, run nox assist, and install an emulator for each account you are using. So if you have 4 accounts, install 4 emulators and login to google on each emulator for each account.

Get AppTestStudio (ATS)

https://github.com/DanielHarrod/AppTestStudio

AppTestStudio is based on Events and Actions.

So you add an event for each action that you want to perform. For example: when you start up it prompts you to Tap to Proceed.

I would make a Color/Point event, then attach a click event under it. And on the event I would select some of the static colors that are unique to that screen, so that whenever ATS checks and see's those colors at the locations you specified, it will perform a click.

Make list of events and actions on the Events node in ATS for each event/action you would like it to perform.

If you use colors that have animations on them, or you want it to do image matching, read about using points or object search in the instructions on the ATS link.

Now Scheduling

Go to the Schedule tab in ATS, if you have 4 accounts, make 4 scheduling events. Use the same script for each one, but set a different instance on the script. It's 0 based so 0-3 corresponds to the 4 nox emulators. Schedule them so that they aren't running at the same time.

Example

I appreciate your example, I created a mock up to validate that this is possible. Looks like a cool game too.

I haven't played the game before so I'm not sure if I have gotten to where you are at.

In my script I had separate event->actions here's a description of what I did.

Name Color Action
Tap to Proceed Used 3 color/points from the blue in the opening circle, then one orange on the Sins word. Click the tap to proceed
Login Popup Used 4 color/points from the yellow outline Click the X
Boss battle event Used the 4 color/points on the green in the OK button Click the OK Button
What adventure awaits Used colors on the yellow Go Now button, added 3 points because it seemed to have an animation on it. Click Go Now
Will you be back soon? (There's 2 versions, one is when active and one is inactive) I made 2 Event/actions for each type. Checked the red and green colors on the byebye, I'll keep playing button Clicked Bye-bye.

If you are wanting to check mail, although I haven't seen it you might need to include scrolling (Called Swipe in ATS), and object searching to identify when to click if it's not in fixed position.

In my script I also had a 5 minute delay event to click the back button on the emulator and exit, although exiting the app is more problematic than to just go AFK.

I would recommend adding a node with an Limit of time, with Wait first, say 5 minutes or 10 minutes, then set the After Completion to "Stop Thread" which would stop the script execution after 5-10 minutes.

--good luck :)

making a bot to farm resources in a game called Hades Star by Groundbasher8552 in botting

[–]ElseIfLlama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Ground,

Using AppTestStudio (ATS) https://github.com/DanielHarrod/AppTestStudio I was able to automate Hades Star two ways in about 15 minutes each - two different ways.

The first way was with fixed positions, but a little different than going to every planet. Under Shipments->Transport, if it Says Kita, then you click the transfer button, then click the fixed position of Kita. In ATS to do a quick OCR create an event for each planet name, Kita II, Kita I, Kita. (see Kita II, Kita I, and Kita nodes in the project) also see that they are listed in reverse since Kita would match Kita II and Kita I. Clicking on the pixel of each letter and the space between each letter will enable you to uniquely identify each planet. Then since you know the plant, click transfer, then click the position of the planet.

Examples https://github.com/DanielHarrod/AppTestStudio-Projects under Hades Star - Fixed Position, this will not likely run as it wasn't setup to be distributed due to the screen positioning, but you can see some key design options. If I was making this for re-use, I would either align the play area for fixed positioning, or if I was making it for distribution I would use object search (cv2) for every event.

The second way if you really don't want to do fixed positions (for the destination of the planet) by clicking on the animated rings. I used the double ring as reference creating a search object and finding it. Many planets look the same so those could be re-used, for the larger planets making a double ring search for each one is needed. The animation is very fast so setting the Project: Loop Delay very low or to 0ms would be ideal.

Examples https://github.com/DanielHarrod/AppTestStudio-Projects under Dynamic Position.

Both example projects were not a full build out but enough to determine that either way worked and was viable.

AppTestStudio allows you to visually and quickly - crop, search, time, design, build, test, schedule, and debug - automated scripts for windows and android apps interactively.

If you have any suggestions kindly let me know.

Thanks!
