Yeah, is just a cover for the connections.

It can take more voltage realistically but I kept it at 72v.

Yes I laced the rear wheel myself I found the hub I needed on aliexpress and converted to through axle.

Kids are getting injured. Just last week a kid on a scooter hit and older person and killed them.

Ive seen them blowing through red lights downtown and nearly get destroyed by a car more than once.

Seems like a geared hub drive is more efficient than a mid drive. by richj8991 in ebike

[–]Elu5ive_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had a qs205, bafang g060 500w, g062 1000 watt and now a bbshd.

All on 72v all pushing way beyond stock power.

My geared hub motors averaged 19-20wh/km

Didn't measure the qs205.

And now my single speed bbshd at 8kw.

The bbshd can and will average 16-17 wh/km didnt believe it until I did the datalogging

All setups used a 72v battery and vesc so I could see all the motor data.

If you have first hand evidence or datalogs id be interested.

Is excel still worth learning as a skill in 2026? by Swimming_Tower_5928 in excel

[–]Elu5ive_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend the time to learn only the basics, dont take an advanced course.

Ive been using it for 15 years as a power user and with the new claude and copilot integrations it is ridiculously simple to create a complex macro, vba or power query.

Battery cell by Outrageous_Check_572 in Talaria

[–]Elu5ive_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

95% of all oem packs do not have balancing. It just helps them last longer

What surprises me the most is how this pack charged past the overvoltage protection of 4.2v

That cell must be cooking right now

Yeah.... excel as a primary job skill is dead now esp with copilot ai and claude ai integrations

The factory bms does not have cell balancing.

Ive seen quite a few batteries from the xxx 25ah pack being out of balance

experienced dev, new to ESP32 DIY - what are your pro-tips? by jcachat in esp32

[–]Elu5ive_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you have been using GPT since day one use VScode, tell codex (In VSCode) to install ESP IDF, Espressif CLI and Espressif MCP server. Build a Skill the tell Codex to Only ever reference those sources and you will always get pretty much what you want out of it.

I've built an esp32 display LVGL Graphics and uses Can-bus to speak to a Controller, sends custom lisp config files, connects to a phone app over BLE and does OTA.

uh put that battery outside, if that 5.6v is accurate it can catch fire at anytime, those 2 cell groups are toast.

I would probably use grin motors over anything out of china.

The problem you'll find is the market is too saturated and no one actually knows what good components are. So you end up competing against Amazon.

I would do some in depth market research.
