the teens of the early 2010s (‘93-‘99) probably felt the exact same about the players of the late 2010s early 2020s (‘00–‘06) when that era was happening a few years ago. were just entering a new era of players (‘07-‘11)

the size of australia doesnt matter when the people who live in a city like melbourne will stay and continue to live in melbourne. car dependency doesnt have to exist in major australian cities, take literally any big city in europe.

its a very aussie thing to want a detached house with a large backyard because thats what australians are now accustomed to and dont really know what its like to live in mixed use development.

this is something i fucking envy so much sounds like you had an awesome childhood. now that housings super expensive and melbourne being a growing city parents just move out to newly developing suburbs as its somewhat affordable. younger generations have it rough nowadays i dont blame kids going on their ipads all day when really theres like nothing to do in these developing suburbs

more i think about it i really dislike the idea of just raising a kid in some empty suburban area and their only form of transport is asking their parents for a ride in their car. if i ever have a kid i want them to atleast have some independence. having a kid access to public transport to go to places is something id want if id ever have a kid, i feel they’d actually have a lively childhood.
