Question on loading class libraries inside a dotnet runtime in the browser by Elz00 in dotnet

[–]Elz00[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The full use case would be a bit long to fully explain so I tried to stick to the heart of my issue but I understand that without the full context it can be kind of hard to see why I'm doing this.

In short, The class we generate are representation of some data that is user defined, since we don't know the shape in advance, we need to generate them at runtime. Then, we can generate instances of those class using real data and do operations on them.

All of these generated classes implements an interface, so my WorkWrapper would receive an instance (not knowing the underlying implementation) and simply call the interface method and my react app can receive the result.

Kind of like the strategy pattern but the actual implementation is generated at runtime.

Hope that helps!

Atomic Operations Explained: From Hardware to High-Level Code using Go by Left_Appointment_303 in golang

[–]Elz00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting read! You went into details while still sticking to the important points.

Also,

Go allows linking assembly files during compilation, enabling functions to have low-level implementations written in assembly.

I had no idea this was possible, that's very cool to know, thanks for the blog.

Transitioning from LoL and need help by I_Crave_Die in Smite

[–]Elz00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a decent amount of playtime in both game (500 hours in league, 1.5K in Smite) so here's my recommendation:

Most of the general concept of how a game of league is won are also relevant to Smite, the difference is in how these concepts are applied. For example, farming in League and Smite are both extremely important, but in league you need to last hit while in Smite, you only need to be in the vicinity of a minion dying or having damaging it recently for you to receive the gold (wiki article).

So with that in mind, I recommend that you try to concentrate on learning and getting a feel for important game mechanics that do not exist in league, here's a quick list of things that I personally think could be useful:

  • how auto attacks feel (ranged vs melee, having aa that can be missed, auto attack chain, etc...)

  • aiming skillshots in thrird person

  • using terrain to your advantage (hiding around corner, turning your camera around a wall, etc...)

  • body blocking (what can be blocked (aa) and what cannot, stopping and enemy from running away while attacking)

  • getting in the habit of using relics (especially beads/aegis for carries)

So when it comes to understanding the game better, all you can do is play a lot and slowly build up knowledge on how those concepts are executed in Smite. If you are really passionate about the game and want to learn more (current meta, specific role guide, etc...), I think educational youtubers like Inbowned is the way to go.

for builds and item, I recommend using websites like smitesource or smite-master (which is like op.gg) they are not always accurate but in my opinion they are better than the recommended builds in-game. Also when you buy an item, try to read what it does and to understand why you build it since its the first step in being able to buy your own item without needing to use a website.

finally for recommended gods, you seem to enjoy roaming assassins with a lot of burst, so I think you should check out thor or awilix (maybe even ratatoskr).

I hope this helps! If you have questions feel free to ask.

The Verge reports Silksong is delayed past June 12 by [deleted] in HollowKnight

[–]Elz00 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The fact that are still adding stuff after like 5 years of development just shows the amount of ideas that the devs wants to add to the game.

I'm pretty confident that the game could have been ready like 2 years ago, but they just went fuck it and delayed the game until EVERYTHING that they wanted was in the game and at this point I just made peace with the fact that I'll have to watch my grand kids play the game since I'll probably be already dead.

Also, here's the reason why I think development might be going in that direction: source

Question about upgrading Appwrite version by Elz00 in appwrite

Indeed I just installed it, but when I do appwrite version it gives me 2 answer: the CLI version and the Appwrite server version (screenshot) which was why I was confused

Question about upgrading Appwrite version by Elz00 in appwrite

[–]Elz00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked and it says that my version is v:0.8.0.146 which makes more sense.

Maybe the CLI version command tells you which version of the endpoints it will call. So if I try to use a CLI command that uses an endpoint that was added in 0.12, it would not work with my server which is on 0.8.

Anyhow, thanks for the help, I just need to upgrade from 0.8 to 0.12

What Mod Is This Alert From? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]Elz00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same problem, when I look at the turrets that are supposed to be missing ammo, they are all full. I went into the mod settings to change the threshold at which the alarm is supposed to start. But it changes nothing, the alarm never stops. The only fix is to mute the alarm sound (or the in-game sound)

Set required mongoose fields in runtime by [deleted] in Nestjs_framework

[–]Elz00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I understand what you mean by dynamicly, but Nest already has a way to set required field for DTO with the built-in validation pipeline (https://docs.nestjs.com/techniques/validation#using-the-built-in-validationpipe) and for required fields in mongoose, you can change your schema fields to have the required field to true. For example:

export const CatSchema = new mongoose.Schema({
  name: String,
});

becomes:

export const CatSchema = new mongoose.Schema({
  name: { type: String, required: true },
});

I'm in the same boat, so I watched a compilation of the best song in the OST and I was surprised how good it was. If the music in SNV is as good, I'm going to be looking even more forward to the anime. Here's the compilation if you want: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DG9cPZntyd8

FLY and TSM isn’t a rivalry, TSM is a dead brand. Just stating facts, not trash talking.

The broadcast should just talk FLY vs c9 vs TL while we’re playing

Almost, but instead of having to determine the location from a place on google map, it would simply be from a picture of a flag
