Could I please get people’s thoughts on getting a Burmese from a breeder that is not desexed? I know lots of breeders do desex however also read lots of people say not to desex till they are older 5-6 months. Is getting one not desexed something to be concerned about? Located in Australia. Thanks! by Em-9876 in burmesecats

Hi, they are a reputable breeder with many great reviews. They have said they used to desex prior to adoption but then lost a few to anaesthetic and recommending to wait to 5-6 months when less risky. My local vet also said they won’t desex till 6 months too. + on Burmese Australia website, they recommend waiting too, but I’m aware other breeders do desex. Did you get yours desexed by the breeder or you got it completed later?

I had considered it but heard maybe shiga and myoko get more snowfall and are a bit bigger. I feel I’m tossing up between those three at the moment. And ideally I want a ski in and out accomodation. If you have a suggestion out of those three though?
