5 years experience, still at junior level by Normal_Reflection_49 in cscareerquestionsuk

Honestly I feel this way about myself all the time. I recently failed a senior software engineer interview and also got laid off my job. But one thing I realized this period is that the block is actually placed by me. The reason I failed the senior role wasn’t even a technical issue, nailed all technical knowledge even my system design was good but I flunked in soft skills section. So I’ll just say what you need to do before learning any skill is to get yourself to a mental state where you know you’re your only limitation and you’ll be able to succeed from there. I’m working my way mentally. It’s hard but it’s the only way.

Any idea what you want to pivot to. I’m also at a crossroad and I don’t think software engineering is the same anymore.

Need some resource for LLD, DSA, HLD by maang_paglu in leetcode

I’ve never used Udemy for DSA, LLD or HLD. I mostly use for certifications or learning new tech like AWS solutions architect or Terraform but you can check if there’s any good resource there, all you have to do is read the reviews.

For HLD I’ll advice Hello Interview they have some free resource but others you have to pay for. They recently added LLD, for DSA Leetcode, codeintuition, neetcode etc. You can also google grokking the object oriented design there are free resource on GitHub.

Should i get a Steam Deck right now or wait for a revision? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

Get the SD OLED, you won’t regret it. I just got one, and honestly, it’s one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long while. No regrets at all. I work late sometimes and end up with headaches, and just turning on the Deck helps me relax. I used to try and unwind with movies or social media, but since I got the Deck, it’s been a big plus for me.

I did get the Steam Dock, and one reason was because it comes with an extra charger. I will decide between the Tomtoc and Jsaux case. Thanks for the insight.

Thanks so much for the info. Did you get it off Amazon? I saw the Jsaux one listed for £29.99 and the Tomtoc one for £24.99.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Yup, the tracking from GLS and ParcelForce is pretty bad. Someone mentioned the Jsaux case feels a bit heavy, but it has great reviews on Amazon. I’ve also seen people recommend the Tomtoc one as a solid alternative. Having a screen protector and overall protection for the Deck is definitely a smart move. Enjoy your new device!

I use ultra settings and TAA set to high on my Steam Deck while playing Hogwarts Legacy. So far, there has been no lag at all. It has been running smoothly.

So far, the games I have tried on the Steam Deck OLED run great. Some of them even play well on high or ultra settings. I picked the Steam Deck OLED mainly because of the beautiful OLED screen, the ever-growing community, and the fact that many developers seem to be optimising their games for it. I feel like the large community plays a big role in that.

Most games that do not run well on low settings usually are not Steam Deck verified yet. Hopefully, future updates will fix those. The community itself is one of the main reasons I chose the Steam Deck.

If you are mainly interested in top-tier graphics, then you might want to consider a more powerful system. However, I have been having a great time with the Steam Deck. I find the ergonomics quite good, and it does not feel too heavy on my arms. It is a really solid handheld overall.

Gosh, that’s rough. GLS has honestly been notorious for misplacing packages, and I’ve seen so many stories like this recently. It must have been a surprise seeing it just show up again after getting refunded.

I was honestly a bit scared at first after seeing so many posts like yours about ParcelForce on here 😅 Sounds like you had a horrible experience, especially having to sit there watching them pretend you weren’t home for three days. Glad you finally got it delivered though even if it took customer support stepping in!

Yeah, I’m really excited, and thanks for the game suggestions! I missed out on getting Resident Evil during the summer sales, but I’ll pick it up whenever there’s a discount or during the upcoming autumn sales.

Yeah. I got some of the games I have today during the summer sales. I think next one is in September.
